Gorgeous!
Finally! I got to talk to the guy in the next neighborhood. I’ve walked past the open garage a few times & couldn’t quite make out what was in there, well, one, I thought I could. Up on blocks he has a 1932 Ford Model B (I thought it was an A); he’s had it for decades & it hasn’t been on the ground since '37.
The other car, which was covered up both with cloths & a few boxes making it hard to make out it’s lines is a 1940 Chevy w/ a 56 'Vette motor in it. It was his (not new) HS car.
Another sighting in Chehalis, this time in the hotel parking lot: a clean 1965 Thunderbird. The interior was really nice too.
I was taking a walk while my car was getting serviced and walked past an interesting shop. There was an early 70s Cutlass but then i turned the corner. First, late 50s Chrysler Imperial Crown Coupe. Then a 40s Buick Eight Super. Then a Corvair Spyder.
Finally a car that looked similar to a model T that had a badge “Henry” on the exposed radiator. There appears to have been a Henry auto maker from 1910-1912, is it possible that this was one? I took photos and will look closer when i get home.
Hmm, I think we should all start hanging out around Chehalis! Must have been a car show going on. What beauties!
Re: Chehalis car sitings–that’s not all; I saw this old delivery truck in neighboring Centerville yesterday. Apparently there’s a antique motorcycle/auto collector who lives in the area.
Double Shot!
I PARKED an Aston Martin Rapide

and a Stinger
I saw a Rolls Royce Corniche convertible today. I’m guessing late 80s model. It was pretty banged up, and the driver was all over his lane. Kind of a shame.
Some more interesting vehicles sighted on my roadtrip:
A 70s(?) Cadillac(?) Motorhome–I can’t find anything like it online, I’m not sure if it’s a “real” Caddy, but it does have authentic-looking Cadillac badging. Probably some sort of custom job.
A small herd of Morris Minors on the way to Port Townsend.
That RV is an amusing piece. Looks like someone morphed a Caddy front grill and fenders from a car onto his road box.
It looks to me like they started with a car, cut away to top, and clumsily riveted the box onto the remains. Check out the front, where the sheet metal comes together. All those gaps and exposed rivets. Ugh! Looks like a deathtrap.
ETA: Actually, now I’m not sure. I see that they apparently had to add spacers to the bumper and add an extra pair of headlights to stretch the original Caddy nose across the front of the RV. So, now I’m with you, Chefguy: they started with some old RV and glommed the Caddy nose and rear fenders on to it. Either way, it’s awful.
In all honesty, an Audi A8 tdi, in black.
Nothing remarkable about it, I just liked the idea of such a powerful turbo diesel, with four wheel drive and likely an automatic shifter. Just such a nice, easy car to sit back and chomp away the miles in.
I think I’m getting old and don’t need the hassle of a crappy 6 speed gear box or the like.
This morning at Quinalt, Washington–a '57 Bel Air Station Wagon. The owner noticed me taking photos and came over to show off the work he’d done under the hood. I mentioned that was taking pictures to share on a message board as “the most interesting car I saw today”. He thought that was pretty neat.
I saw a real London taxi and an original Austin Mini parked in a place that will be seen by many thousands of people attending the myriad of summer car shows.
1959 Ford Prefect. Looks like a 100E. Never heard of it until I saw one for sale near where I live. It’s a Ford made for the UK market but this one has left hand drive. Totally restored.
Nice looking car!
A 2003 Mercury Marauder in black.
A Datsun 280ZX.
Dangit, I was coming in here to report that. ![]()
Stunningly-beautiful summer weather here in Peterborough, Ontario. I am standing waiting for a bus when I see a car coming along with a Japanese license plate! I look closely as it passes. It’s a Datsun 280ZX in left-hand drive. The rear plate is a regular Ontario plate, so the owner is skirting regulations that require a plate front and back. (The front plate must have been behind the windshield, but I was so distracted by the Japanese plate that I didn’t see it.)
Nice. I actually chased my 280ZX for a little while, to make sure it was a Datsun and not a Nissan. Mine was a very clean example, nice looking. California plates.
Peterborough… I’ve stayed in your neck of the province, on my way to my one and only Blue Jays game at the Rogers Centre. I was looking for the farm where they filmed Fly Away Home (a cute family movie). You live in a beautiful area, even in winter (although winters with the lake effect can be harsh).
