…and this morning’s rarity was a '46 Dodge pickup; in fact it appeared to be the exact one shown on this 2011 classified ad:

An Old English White with red interior 1966 MGB roadster.
It’s parked next to our house.
Two on the drive home from the mountains yesterday. A bugeye Sprite and a Shelby Cobra, probably a replica.
A Porsche Cayanne turbo. But not really the SUV itself. What was interesting is that it was towing an open trailer with a Mazda Miata race car. It’s a very unusual choice of tow vehicle.
A Mercedes Benz AMG GT Roadster. Man, that’s a sexy looking car.
At my local Lincoln dealer today to get a sliced-up tire fixed, on the show room floor was the most amazing candy-apple red 2002 Mustang I’ve ever seen.
Price? You don’t even want to know.
Not sure exactly what kind of car it was. I saw an open wheeled roadster with spoke wheels so it was fairly old, and it had a Ducati badge on the front, so maybe a Ducati engine?
Parked next to a Maserati of some sort today. Not sure what model, didn’t see any other markings. Looked recent. Not a very common make around here but it had local plates.
(Does quick Google search.)
Looks like it may have been a Granturismo.
I live in a pretty affluent neighborhood, but I’m still surprised by the number of Maseratis I see, mostly four door models, the Ghibli M157 I think. A while back, I was at a light behind one with vanity plates that said “KA CHING”. I was tempted to ram it with my 98 Corolla.
And whenever I see one, without fail, I think, “My Maserati does 185. I lost my license, now I don’t drive.”
I drove my 1963 Porsche 356 today and saw
— 2 Model T Fords
— a Polaris Slingshot
— a 1st-gen, 1950s Ford Thunderbird
Life’s been good…
A 1959 Willys Jeep Truck with a Hurricane engine.
At the corner market, I saw a Triumph TR6.
Possibly a Morgan 3-wheeler? Some people put motorcycle V-twins in them. Someone in North Carolina is known for using Ducati’s 1-liter, so if you’re around there…
It was a 4 wheeler, the body was sort of bathtub shaped but tapered front and rear. My guess would have been 30’s race car but I really have no idea. There was a Ducati badge on the grill, other than that no markings that I could see.
Ford Model A, during the morning commute, just tooling down Somerville Ave.
I just got back from Car Week in Monterey, not sure I can boil it down to one specific car. Maybe a Porsche 917 in Gulf livery or Andretti’s Lotus 77 in the John Player Special colors. The McLaren F1 GTR that Mika Häkkinen was driving?
We saw so many recent model McLaren’s that I wondered if it was embarrassing for the owners. Not so special when there’s a couple dozen similar cars in the lot. They way outnumbered the Lamborghinis and Ferraris out and out. There’s an interesting data point there but I’m not entirely sure what to make of it.
In terms of cars that I saw that I’d actually keep if I was given one, I saw numerous Alfa GTA/GTVs that I’d like, and a handful of series 1 Jaguar E-Types. And a Lotus Cortina. A field full of BMW CSL 3.0s. And a brand new BMW M2 that had me considering leasing, against my better judgement.
So, when I saw the Maserati, I was parking next to it at the liquor store. Today I stopped there again, and in the same parking space as the Maserati had been before was the first Tesla I have seen in the wild. I was determined to accurately report the model but can’t remember now. Looked very similar to the Maserati. I’m thinking it was a Model S with some additional numbers, PD something?
Yesterday: '67 or '68 Chevelle convertible.
