What's the most interesting car you saw today?

Looks like it might be the Lamborghini / Aston Martin / Rolls / exotic cars dealership on Blossom Hill. Is it?

Not there, but at the Del Auto Group shop at the end of old Camden Ave off Winchester.

I’ll have to check it out.

I was acting in a student film today. I had to get into a 69 Mercury Comet and pretend it wouldn’t start. The car was in good shape! Owned by the same person since '76. The owner loans it out to film productions often.

A coworker drove his 89 Toyota Supra (he’s the original owner) to work today because it’s supposed to hit 60 degrees. A last gasp on summer before putting the car up for the winter.

1970-ish Olds 442 convertible. Red with black top and stripes. Looked perfect.

Ooh, tell me, was it metallic green?

Yesterday saw a mid-70s or so Cadillac. Maybe a Seville.

I was too distracted to note the model details because it had a freaking vinyl roof. And in fair condition, too.

Around here with the sun, heat, humidity and sun, vinyl roofs don’t last long at all.

So, either this car has been kept in a well protected place all these years or the vinyl has been replaced. Googling shows there are a ton of places that advertise Caddie vinyl replacement, so I guess that’s a thing.

(I use to see cars here that the vinyl got so bad people just stripped it off. And left behind ugly metal/rust/adhesive crap. Yeah, vinyl on car roofs. That’s a good idea.)

Nope, sorry, it’s black. With some pretty good gold scrollwork on the hood.

A Tesla Roadster; I see Teslas all the time, but rarely a Roadster.

Yesterday I saw a 3rd Generation (1979-1993 – this one looked like mid-'80s) Ford Mustang 5.0 coupé. It had oxidised black paint, rust around the edges, a dent in front of the right-front corner of the windshield, an ill-fitted hood… and Historical Vehicle license plates.
I thought these cars were ugly when they were new. I wouldn’t consider them ‘historical vehicles’. I’m guessing the owner got the Historical Vehicle plates to save money.

A silver MB 300 SL gullwing coupe, waiting for a ferry.

This morning, an early 1960s Ford Ranchero, ie. the Falcon based version.

And this evening, a mid-1960s Plymouth Valiant, I think a 1965 or 66. It merged in front of me in traffic, and then I changed lanes and passed it. It had one of the old black California license plates, indicating it more than likely has spent its entire life in California.

Was it an old old black plate, or a new old black plate?

It appeared to be an old one. It was six characters, three letters and three numbers, as opposed to the current seven character pattern of a number, three letters, and three numbers. Unless the owner ordered a personalized plate with that pattern, it was an old one.

I checked the format on the CA DMV page. Their 1960 Legacy plate is Q123Q1, so six characters – but not the same format as the originals. (I know my first car was TAA 951.)

Thanks.

I was walking my dog and saw a blue SUV with an Italian flag-inspired striped design going over the hood to the roof and the back. I then noticed the Lamborghini nameplate on the rear of the vehicle, but couldn’t find a model name. After Googling, I discovered I had seen a Urus.

Last night I on the way home I saw a white 1960s Dodge A100 van sitting in a parking lot with a “for sale” sign on it. Coincidentally I saw a similar van around my neighborhood last Saturday, also white. Pretty sure they were two different vans, given the distance apart I saw them.
