Funnily enough today I saw a bright yellow 1970s VW Beetle Cabriolet… with the top up. I’m sure the driver had their reasons, but I found it funny that someone with a convertible would drive it with the top up on a warm sunny day like today.
One of my personal favorites, the Lotus Elise. This one a Series 2, in silver.
Oh and also today…
A beautiful red 1961 Triumph TR3. 5 total pics on imgur.
The other day I saw:
90s MG RV8
AC Cobra (most probably a replica)
Nothing interesting today though
Chevy El Camino, perhaps 1969
Cruising to Honeymoon Island on the Dunedin Causeway in Florida this afternoon, a nice red '57 Bel Air
That’s fabulous. Thanks for the laugh.
There were a few beautiful days earlier this week and I saw a 20ish young man driving a very nice 53ish Ford and just yesterday I saw a 60-somethign guy driving a silver/grey 69 Camaro z28.
Lamborghini, Very old Corvette convertible and what looks to be a real US Army Jeep.
Before I moved to Washington, I had a 1946 Willys CJ2A. Since there was nothing out there on them, I created The CJ2A Page. I lost my job in 2003, and had just closed on my house. The next several years were… difficult. I didn’t have the resources to bring the jeep up, and didn’t have the time to maintain the page; so I sold the jeep, and I gave away the webpage to someone who kept much of what I created and then improved upon it.
Here’s my jeep when I owned it, parked near my apartment in L.A.

ETA: CJs are ‘Civilian Jeeps’, but except for having a tailgate and an ignition key, they’re like the Willys MB/Ford GPW.
My brother just bought a 2021 Audi S5 Sportback Prestige. I don’t know that I’d call it particularly “interesting”. In fact, it’s kind of ugly, IMO. But I’m a fan of this segment of performance/sport sedans and I love the hatchback type trunk. So I don’t hate it and it will no doubt be a fun car to drive daily.
I wouldn’t call it ‘ugly’, but I don’t like those gigantic grilles they have on cars nowadays.
That’s my pet peeve as well. And the body creases on the current Audi styling “language” is just so overdone.
A well-cared-for Dodge Stealth R/T in red. That was the full twin turbo, AWD, AWS version. It had what looked like slightly oversized wheels/rims which I think threw off the sleek proportions a bit but still a cool car.
Forgot to post last Sunday when I saw an unrestored but very solid Ford Pinto. I think it was one of the last model years, it was definitely uglier than the mid seventies ones I had back in the day.
A 1968 Chevy K10 Pickup, in amazing shape at a car restoration place. I only know the model and year because it was on the license plate.
A really well-maintained Avanti with narrow sidewall tires that made the car look really odd, and it’s odd enough already. I wanted to turn around and follow the driver so I could quiz him about the car but I was about to be late for an appointment so I reined in the impulse. Sigh.
Today I saw a black Volvo PV544.
The President’s old limo, in San Carlos CA yesterday.
