What's the most interesting car you saw today?

Rivian R1T. Around here, San Francisco, I see one every month. Sometimes every week.

2nd generation (1968-72) Chevy Chevelle coupe utility with a 307. Is this the same as an El Camino with slightly different badging?

Google Photos

'68 El Camino with the usual El Camino badges above the driver’s side headlights and on the rear fender. They were based on the Chevelle wagon during that period but I don’t know if the Chevelle badge on the front fender was an option.

Saw a red whale-tail Porsche 911 this afternoon. Surprised, because it’s only the middle of February even if the temperature is above freezing. An early sighting is unusual in Minnesota. However, it was obvious that the car had been out for a day or two already. It needed a bath to wash that salt away.

They need to fix that electrical mess before some gets killed, no pun intended.

This is not your father’s Audi — olive drab color, matte finish, black wheels. Definitely a military aura.

Audi, out of Ingolstadt Germany, has four interlocked rings as its logo. The rings represent four separate companies that, in 1932, joined together to form Auto Union AG, which would later become AUDI AG: Audi, DKW, Horch and Wanderer.

Here is a picture of an early version of the Audi logo.

The new BMW iX xDrive 50 is a battery-electric mid-size luxury crossover SUV first introduced for sale in November 2021. Its electric range is up to 390 miles.

Nice ‘65, there. I like how the owner used the hood scoop from the ‘65 Superstock cars.
BTW, I live about 2 miles from that mall.

Howdy, neighbor!

Not yet a food truck but looking good in the meantime:

Sorry about the pole.

My son and I went to a car show yesterday. Saw this cool Dodge Charger.

Alfa Romeo 4C. These have been sold since 2013, ten years!, and yet I hardly see them out in the wild.

It’s a pretty car, and mid-engined too which is an excellent thing.

I’ve seen exactly one in the wild here in MN. I agree, it is a beautiful car.

Yesterday, on the 5 just north of Arlington at 06:30 or so, I saw a blue, MGB GT.

There are MGBs around, but they’re not sighted particularly often. I’ve only seen one or two other GTs here.

I looked at buying one when they came out as a replacement for my Lotus Elise. No option for a manual transmission, and the automatic they did come with was a poorly regarded dual-clutch unit. Then I thought long and hard about maintenance issues with a cutting edge carbon fiber chassis Italian car and slooowly backed away.

I then went and looked at a Fiat Dino Spider in ‘excellent’ condition, and after reviewing all the little things wrong with it, I decided my little BMW still under warranty was not that bad a compromise.

A GLS 600 Maybach in cream over black dual paint, like this:

Nice ride but it kind of looked like a commercial color scheme in the corner of my eye, like a taxi or something

1956 Chrysler 250 Windsor Wagon
Owned by a neighbor of my church, this was the owner’s grandfather’s car and it has been in the family since it was bought new in 1956.

Bright yellow 1st-gen Miata. Very clean. Very straight. Very bright!
