I just saw my first Lucid Air on the road today.
That’s reassuring, because I haven’t seen any in months after seeing one every 2-3 weeks, while I’m seeing more Polestars a few times each week.
I’m wondering what’s happening with Lucid Air?
Ford Fairlane or Torino judging by the taillights.
Two on my walk today. First, a genuine HUMVEE.
Then I spotted what I think is a 1968-69 Olds Cutlass, but it was behind a house so I couldn’t get close.
Well, this is a story. But at a good friends wedding one of the friends drove up in a Duce and a Half M35 series 2½-ton 6×6 cargo truck - Wikipedia
The whole wedding party jumped in back and we drove around (the small) town blowing the horn and diesel smoke. The bride, a dispatcher for 911 said if a cop pulls us over, he will go to every barking dog complaint they get.
If you have a Duce and a Half full of dressed up people in the back, you suddenly have a parade.
Was fun, spontaneous, and very, very weird.
Is this just like the Bullitt Mustang? The Bullitt Mustang was a 1968. Is this one a 1967 or a 1968? Based on the license plate I think this is a 1968.
One of the most influential car chase scenes in the movies is from Bullitt (1968). Part of the famous chase goes less than a mile from where I lived in San Francisco, and from where my church was. It’s at this spot in the video, on Mansell Street at University. I’ve driven all the streets in the chase scene, including on Guadalupe Canyon Parkway at Bayshore Boulevard where it ends:
It has marker lights, which a 1967 wouldn’t have. OTOH, it’s a Bullitt Mustang clone, so I suppose someone could have started with a ‘67 and added marker lights to make it look like a ‘68.
It looks great. Neat that you live near the site of maybe the icon of car chase scenes.
I’ve been seeing this car around town. It has dealer plates, and the driver must live near me:
Looks like something the Green Goblin would drive.
Only if the green gobbler were independently wealthy
; o)
Well, the original Green Goblin in the Marvel Comics was Norman Osborn, who was an industrialist – he owned a big company (Oscorp), and likely could afford a high-end MB.
“Who are you and how did you get this car?”
“I’m the dealer and … I’m the dealer.”
Beautiful 1st gen Bronco.
Highschool buddy had a 1976 (?) FJ40. Being manly men in high school we dropped a 327CI Chevy Corvette engine into it.
It did well. Could pull wheelies in low range. Could also drive over Corvettes (oops) That HP was not needed on the trail though. Pointless.
I wonder what happened to that Frankenstein.
Car and Driver magazine has a nice story about how the original Bullitt Mustang was found.
Steve McQueen’s Bullitt-Movie Mustang Suddenly Reappeared: This Is How It Happened
That’s a great story!
Correction: how my Mustang was found!
(Yes it is a great story!)
After seemingly months of not seeing any Lucid Airs while also seeing many more Polestars and Rivians (including the SUVs), I finally spotted one.
Do you own one? What year?
Lucid? No I don’t own one. And Polestar or Rivian too.
