Bright green Lotus
What kind of Lotus is that?
This Roadrunner that the guy uses as his daily driver during summer. He’s at my store once or twice a day and I can always tell because, even from my office, I can hear him gunning the engine as he pulls in and again when he’s leaving. He’s had this car for quite a while, I’m always surprised the novelty (of racing the engine) hasn’t worn off yet.
And I just heard the car, so I didn’t have time to get an actual picture, so this is a somewhat fisheye’d screen shot from a camera in the parking lot.
There was a mini car show in my neighborhood today. Lots of interesting cars, including a couple of Cobras, pair of McLarens, some classic Broncos, and Willys Jeeps.
@Bullitt , I am so envious of you seeing all those cars.
That said, spring has finally made itself known in Minnesota. We are thrilled it happened on the weekend. So far today, the most interesting that I’ve seen is a Maserati Levante. I’ve heard far more than I’ve seen though. My new locale is a woodsy area near the interstate and every souped up car and motorcycle hereabouts is letting me know it is on the move through the exhaust notes.
That’s quite a mix Beowolff. Very cool.
Hey @beowulff that first car looks like a 1940 Ford I saw the other day. When I upload the pics I will post them here.
Nice sightings!
Ferrari Roma. A guy here seems to be daily-driving it, including dirt roads. Montana in April–kudos to whoever it is!
Here’s that 1940 Ford with a Chevy engine. Note the “Heartbeat” homage to Chevy.
The owner wants to sell it, if anyone is interested. I don’t know him but the guys at my 4x4 shop do. It started right up and sounded pretty good. The last pic here is a video of it driving away.
Oops, apologies to @beowulff for the mis-identify. I love the cars.
We knew that’s who you meant.
I was passed by this car this morning. What is it?
Google Lens says Lamborghini Hurrican.
With that, it’s a Lamborghini Huracan STO. Thanks!
Just an ordinary red Tesla 3. But it’s interesting to me because I get to drive it for the next four days. (Rental.)
Have fun! Is this your first chance to really drive an electric?
Ok, now I’m jealous. Years ago, there were rentacar places where you could get some pretty cool sports cars/convertibles/whatever. I thought it’d be a great way to see if you want a particular car, or genre.
Or to see if you really don’t. That might kill my “mid-life crisis convertible” desires. Drive one for a week and say “Huh, I only really wanted to have the top down twice…” Maybe the same for a Tesla.
We rented a little sporty car in SF and drove up the coast. It was a blast, but I didn’t take any turns at high enough speed that I would’ve needed a Porsche, or even a GTI. A VW Golf did just fine.
Oh, the car was $40/day, twelve years ago. Sigh…
Wonder if there are still places that rent fun cars. Enterprise had a sporty division. Can’t find it now, probably gone…
First time driving a Tesla, but we owned a Leaf for a couple of years. Not as advanced as a Tesla, but similar in certain ways, eg regenerative braking.
Back when I was driving on track, I ran several events in California, and rented a BMW Z4, a Porsche Boxster, and a Lotus Elise. They were all great fun, but I wouldn’t have wanted to own an Elise. It was very cramped and low to the ground, which made it hard for someone my size to get in and out of. Also noisy. Not a great daily driver. The other two were much more comfortable and convenient.
