What's the most interesting car you saw today?

Specifically 1954, the only year for that grille.

Buick Riviera, 1st generation, early 1960s, in beautiful condition.

I like clever license plates.

Admittedly, this was me: Creative parking in downtown Los Gatos CA

I recently borrowed my son’s motorcycle to run an errand in downtown San Francisco. When I parked it was next to a really nice scooter. And another nice scooter was there too.

Note: I miss my motorcycle! Traffic getting in to SF was really bad that day, but in splitting lanes on the freeways I was able to slice and dice my way through easily. It was actually fun.

A Porsche Speedster, the 911 flavor. I like the manual transmission.

On my walk along the beach today, I saw an early-'70s, blue, MG Midget. Made me wish I was driving my B instead of getting exercise for my stupid health.

Alfa Romeo Giulia

I’m envious. California is great for motorcycling. Here in AZ, we can now split lanes when the cars are stopped; it’s a step in the right direction.

It’s a start. Many car drivers do not realize that when done right, lane splitting is quite safe to do. And it reduces congestion for all the other drivers, because if all of us motorcyclists were not allowed to lane split we’d be sitting in traffic and creating more congestion.

Good luck to you there in the Grand Canyon state. Hopefully you’ll soon be able to split lanes when cars are moving.

I saw a BMW 328i station wagon today. Did they ever sell the wagon version of the 3-series in the US, or was that an import from Europe? I didn’t think it looked 25 years old, but I guess the E46 generation would be just old enough now, and still looks fairly modern.

Yes they did sell the 3 wagons in the US. My brother bought one. It was a fun little wagon.

I just saw a setup that I want for my Grand Cherokee: an eDirt bike on a hitch carrier. When I set mine up I will also set up a charging system for it. The ultimate in road trip flexibility and capability! I can easily go to baseball or football games by splitting through the traffic.

A beautiful Ford V8 pickup, just now in Campbell CA. Perhaps a 1952?

Close. That hood trim is specific to '51.

Cool, thank you for that.

Toyota Land Cruiser with collector plates. The vehicle didn’t look very old to me. Here in MN, the vehicle must be at least 20 years old for that plate. But of course, Land Cruisers last a long, long time and their look has stayed pretty solid. Toyota don’t sell the newer models here in the U.S. any more.

But a new one is coming.

While having lunch at a corner pub in my neighborhood, I happened to look out the window just as a two-tone '55 Chevy was passing by. The car looked much like the one on this page, except the placement of the white and green was reversed.

I did not notice it originally but this is a Quadrifoglio version.
