What's the most interesting car you saw today?

A 1936 Ford Coupe hot rod, also in cherry red.

A 1948 Diamond T Grand Prix racing truck. Imgur: The magic of the Internet

A very elegant Jensen-Healey in cream; one of my favourite 70s designs, muscular without being aggressive.

Scarily, I think it looks better in pink and black.

A white 2014 Maserati GranTurismo Sport parked directly in front of my house. That car could get a speeding ticket while parked.

A Lotus Elise in black on this morning’s commute. A Ferrari California yesterday on the way home. Looks like all the sports cars are out on the road in New England.

Saw this today at my local garage:

Auto Union 1000SP.

Even more beautiful in person than in the pics.

I don’t know what it was. Black, low slung. I looked out the window because I heard the hefty exhaust tone and knew it wasn’t just a ricer with a resonator installed. Could have been a Lotus, I suppose, but I didn’t get a good look at it. It was moving slowly, as there are speed bumps on this street and I doubt he was clearing them by much.

You,be got that bassackwards. It’s the early E Types, the Series 1 models that have the covered headlights. One of the largest crimes against humanity was when the DOT banned those covered headlights and forced Jaguar to redesign. All downhill from there.

And they were glass not plastic!

AC Cobra, all black, no stripes. Nice. It passed me on the interstate. Nice sound.

1968 Plymouth Road Runner. With it’s orignal plates and vinyl top and in pretty good shape.

A 1st-generation Honda Civic, maybe a 1972 or 1973. Boy, those cars were small.

I was standing on a bridge waiting for a convoy of M cars (for work) when a Lotus Exige then a Lamborghini Aventador passed by…
I was happy!

Yes, and a totally new experience for Americans to drive something like that. I miss seeing them around.

Okay, I’m a little late… two days ago I saw three cars in a row that were probably 1920s or earlier. I don’t know the models, but the one in the middle looked like a Ford Model T… yes, they had historic-vehicle plates.

At the grocery parking lot today: a beautifully kept 1980 (I asked) red Fiat Spyder convertible. Guy said it’s been his daily driver for 25 years, and he bought it from the original owner.

“Fiat” and “daily driver” in the same discussion? Does not compute. Does not compute.

Maybe he meant “daily, on the three days out of seven that it’s not in the shop.”

Seriously, though, i love the Fiat Spyder, and the 124 coupe was nice too. The Spyder, in my opinion, has some of the nicest lines of any of the small sports cars.

A Dodge Magnum Wagon. Not even a common car 10 years ago.

Wikipedia says: “The Magnum is the last mid-size station wagon … sold by an American automobile manufacturer in the United States, …”. But sure looked less-than-mid-sized.

Today was a good day, car-wise. For the first time I saw the new small Jeep, the Renegade. This one was even Trail Rated. My wife thought it looked cute. Then also for the first time I saw the new, 4th generation Miata, the ND (1st gen was NA, then NB, etc). Pretty nice.

I’ve seen a few BMW I3s since the first time a couple of months ago. I saw a coup,e more today, and they’re starting to grow on me, the more I see them on the road. I think the design works, but when you see one for the first time, it looks weird.
