I think the split rear bumper was between 1970 and 1974, but there may be variants. The rear side light may have arrived in 1971 but I found some online without it. Perhaps it was only for US import?
Is that license plate from 1993?
Wow, 3-4 shades of aqua
Oh yeah, that’s wild. That registration is 30 years overdue…?
From the searching I did it looks like that split bumper is for US import.
It must still get some use. I see a little bit of rust, but I’d be surprised if a car that had been parked outside in the California sun for 30 years would still have air in tires, or for that matter, tires that could hold air. On the other hand, those disgusting vinyl windows suggest it hasn’t moved in a while. Kinda makes me wonder if the interior of the car is a big moldy mess.
That MG is in a driveway near my brother’s house, not too far away from me. I think it’s usually under a cover, IIRC. Next time I’m there I’ll take a closer look. That 1993 registration sticker was surprising. I didn’t notice that until it was mentioned.
The first car I saw in motion this year was a rat rod yesterday morning
Huh. Street tires on a dirt bike.
did the 1980-90ies super-motard craze not reach you???
Um… No. What is that?
I had a Yamaha IT490. Knobbies of course. The thing was a rocket.
a car that I wanted to post for quite some time … possibly the 2020 equivalent (or reincarnation?) of a 1970ies Gremlin:

Fellow 'Muricans, let me proudly present you the Suzuki S-presso:
a redheaded citycar-SUV stepchild, made in India - the end of many a joke here in S-america:
Interesting. According to wiki they are made in India.
originally “zero stars” in a crash test, now with double-airbags upgraded to 1 star …
Global NCAP has tested the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso under its new and upgraded crash test protocols, which came into effect in July 2022. In the new tests, the S-Presso has secured a 1-star rating for adult protection and a 0-star rating for child protection. The India-spec S-Presso was previously tested by Global NCAP in 2020 where it received a 0-star rating for adult protection and a 2-star rating for child protection.
My first-ever spotting of the Tesla Semi.
The Tesla Semi initially rolled out over a year ago, but Friday was the first time I’d spotted one. It was parked in the middle of the street so I doubled back to get this shot.
The first production Tesla Semis were delivered in December 2022 to Pepsi and Frito Lay for their commercial use.
The first photo is mine. The other 3 are web pics.
I had to commute to the office this morning for the first time in a while. On my way in I saw a guy get pulled over by a cop driving an unmarked Toyota Camry. Never saw a Camry cop car in the US before, but if the goal is to blend in a Camry is the perfect choice. (I accidentally typed “bland in” at first, and I almost left the typo in, because that is a perfect description of driving a Camry).
That’s about as bland as you can get. That, or a Prius.
I’m starting to see Lucid Airs, occasionally. It seems like they disappeared for awhile then came back. A couple of years ago they were rare sightings. Then for a long time, I want to say a year or two I didn’t see any at all. Now they’ve become occasional sightings.
… and, I saw another Lucid Air tonight.
