What's the most interesting car you saw today?

A very fun XC-90 build. Donut/Jay Leno

A nice old bug, with fuel injection! So it’s at least from 1975 or later. Note the duct tape on the sun roof.

Also spotted a 2nd generation (2016-2022) orange Acura NSX. The orange color was introduced in 2018, and in the last 4 model years only 660 were sold in the US, I don’t know how many of those were that color. A pretty rare sighting. It looked just like this:

Hate to say it, but it does look like a Civic on steroids… I’m sure it’s lovely to drive. I wish there was a track nearby. Even (or especially) a cart track.

any rationale for that?

I saw two today, parked back to back, with a Chevy Bolt parked in front of them.

While at a red light I saw a 1964ish Ford Galaxie heading south. Then less than a minute later I saw a first generation (1978-85) Mazda RX-7 heading north.

It’s always striking just how small those 1970s-80s sports cars were. That RX-7 almost makes my current generation Miata look big.

An acquaintance of mine just bought a 2024 Mustang GT premium. Fastback. Gotta admit, its a damn pretty car. My son has an '11 base model which is nice, but I do like the look of the newer ones.

She opted for the automatic rather than the manual, a choice I wouldn’t have made.

I saw an INEOS Grenadier today. It mostly looks like it could be an old Land Cruiser or Range Rover, which I suppose is exactly the look they are going for. I hope it goes on some good adventures, because that snorkel is wasted on the suburban streets here.

I saw a Ford F150 Lightning today. I didn’t realize it was a Lightning at first, I just assumed it was a regular F150, until it almost silently pulled away from the stop sign.

Trends, and peoples’ interests have changed. A guess.

Oh wow!

Went to a local car show today so lots of choices but I’m going to go with the three Honda Beats. I’ve only ever seen one before.

Interesting. I like those kinds of vehicles. So I checked out their website. But the site is so annoying that I had to bail. So I still don’t know jack on the vehicle.

@Whack-a-Mole shared this video. It’s a good summary of it ➜

I went by that gas station again and that same 1964 Triumph Herald 1200 Saloon was there, the same one I posted less than a week ago. I took these pictures because its tires are so narrow and small: 155/80-13.

Pics are overexposed, to show the tires.

A Porsche 356 1600 Super. I don’t know enough to ID the year, but I’m sure someone else will be along soon who can.

I also caught quick glimpses of a Ferrari and a Lamborghini, both rare here on the North Shore of Boston, but they were coming in the opposite direction and went by too quickly for me to figure out what model, much less grab a picture.

Not me. My wife might be able to, though. She’s the 356 expert in the family.

And I saw a random 356 couple too.

While I was walking my dog this morning, I saw a light blue mid-'60’s Ford Falcon which looked very well-cared for. Not exactly showroom quality, but as if it had been on the road for only a small fraction of its sixty-odd years.

A Nissan Ariya, a BEV compact crossover SUV, reported to be Nissan’s first zero-emissions SUV. Per wiki, it was first revealed in July 2020, with the US launch of the Ariya initially planned for the second half of 2021, before being delayed to 2022.

These are web pics. I wasn’t able to snap any photos of the one I saw but it was the same color as this.

Pretty nice looking, IMO.

My wife thinks it might be a 1958.

Added: she says it doesn’t look quite right. The taillights should be small and round. These teardrop shaped taillights are like what’s on her* 1963 cabriolet. So she thinks it might be a reproduction.

* — ‘our’ 356 is really hers. She bought it about 5 years before we met. When we got married, after about 7-8 years of marriage she put me on title. The guys in the 356 club said she added me to the title way too soon! :slightly_smiling_face:

Oh, and the title? It’s with AND. As in Bullitt and Mrs. Bullitt. Not OR. :slightly_smiling_face:

That’s right guys, I married a car chick!
