What's the most interesting car you saw today?

Cool, what is/was the purpose of a boat like that?

It was a tug on the Erie Canal. Took over from Sal the mule in the 1920’s. I’m making a museum exhibit of it for a place in Seneca Falls, NY.

Cool. Looks like a large space for passengers, or perhaps cargo?

You must make a tribute to Sal the mule.

Mostly motor, plus quarters for the crew. Yeah, the motor took up most of the area under the rearward higher roof space. In front of that was berths/bunks and behind is the galley/kitchen.

Ah, of course. My first thought on see the picture was “canal boat”, but then the props told me no. I didn’t realize the canals survived long enough to get motorized tugs.

That reminds me, I saw a blue C3 on Tuesday when coming back after having IT deal with CrowdStrike on my work laptop. I only know what it was because its car cover had been pulled up from the front driver’s side fender.

A Moto Guzzi [motorcycle] just paused in front of the yard next door. Nice view from our window.

I couldn’t make out what it was carrying but it must’ve been damn heavy…an oversized load with a trail vehicle (pickup). The load was on a 50-wheeler; 4 sets of triple axles + two more wheels on the front of the cab.

Damn! New ZR1 Corvette drops. Over 1000 HP. Carbon fiber everything. GM is actually firing on all cylinders for once.

Doesn’t count unless you saw it with your own eyes.

I did! On YouTube. My eyes don’t lie!

My first thought was that it looks like it was made from Lego bricks. The kind with a sloped top.

A Raider?
I don’t think I’ve ever seen one before.

A Dodge Raider, aka a rebadged Mitsubishi Montero. These were made back when Chrysler had a partnership with Mitsubishi.

So today, I saw another Cybertruck. Not the same one as before - today’s was that odd sort of gray/brown/taupe color. Still fugly as hell.

Then, 45 minutes later, I saw a Rivian - a pickup truck, this time.

Do the two brands travel in packs or something? Is there some sort of symbiosis thing going on?

I saw a pristine '78 VW Bug yesterday. A former coworker stopped by the shop for a visit and he was driving it. Baby blue.

Dodge Raider. It was a Mitsubishi product. They were fairly common in the 80s and 90s. Someone I knew had one and he let me drive it up a long, steep grass hill in San Francisco. I came away impressed!

Added: I see @WildaBeast has already added that.

There must be something in the water…

On my walk today:

Porsche 944, last produced in 1991 so at least 33 years old.

VW Arteon, a low volume and now discontinued car slotted above the Passat.

Yesterday I saw the guy driving his Morgan 8 in the direction opposite mine on the freeway.

I also saw a new Toyota Supra. Looked nice.

Getting off the freeway, I waited on a red Porsche 914 that had some custom bodywork.
