What's the most interesting car you saw today?

Herbie

I don’t generally notice cars and if I do, it’s not something I retain enough to comment on later (unless it’s something butt ugly like the cyber truck). Today, however, I was nearly t-boned by what I’m pretty sure is a Maserati, painted pink and black. The driver looked young enough that it might actually have been her sweet sixteen present. I’m guessing she was getting her nails done on the day the four way stop rules were taught in drivers ed.

Pink and black can work very well as a color scheme. My Wife had a triathlon bike painted that. When you get into that range for a bike the shop that specializes it for you will paint it’s name on it. You name it like you might a horse.

That was the ‘Funky Flyer’ My Wife’s maiden name is Funk.

Now back to four wheels.

We have a set of Ogio luggage that is pink and black. Very easy to pick out on a luggage carousel.

White car going the other way, a DeTomasso Pantera

Unfortunately no picture, but something like an older CR-V going the other way with an elk carcass in the back and the HUGE head and rack stuffed in the sunroof. Determined!

Looks like an oversized dumpster.

I saw a Rivian pickup at the grocery store. Who pays that much for a truck you’re afraid will get scratched?

I know a guy who has a Rivian. He takes it off-road, at least easy trails.
He paid for the PPF to protect his paint.

Good for him. I miss my Jeeps. I never cared about bad roads or a scratch or two on them; it’s what they’re meant to do. I don’t know about the newer ones, but the ones I had were made to rock climb.

You nailed it!

A 1910 Buick Model 19.

I took approx 60 pictures.

A 1st generation (1972-79) Honda Civic CVCC. Based on the tail lights, I think it’s a 77-79 model. Small little fellow.

And last week on an afternoon walk I saw two different 3rd generation (1968-82) Chevy Corvette Stingrays. The first was a coupe equipped with the L82 small block V-8 package, which seems impressive but the HP numbers are surprisingly low. I didn’t see a badge on the 2nd one, which was a convertible.

One of my sisters had the wagon version for a long time. Pretty much identical to this:

Saw my first EV Hummer.
Curiously, it had square aftermarket amber lights mounted on the front corners of the hood, & mounted out ata bit of an angle. If they were low & pointed forward I’d say they were fog lights but they were on top of the hood & at an angle; not sure what their purpose was. There were also two aftermarket lights on the rear corners of the roof, again facing out at an angle. The four of them were mounted in such a way that I’m sure they played havoc with aerodynamic efficiencies.

What is the EV equivalent of MPG - MP_? Electrons? Volts?

I’m visiting back east, so here are some basic photos of Providence RI’s first responders’ rigs.

That’s for jeeping/off road. Gives you a better overall view of what you’ve gotten yourself into.

A Terex TR60 being hauled somewhere on the highway. Pretty unusual sighting in suburban Boston. I found out that Terex sold of the haul truck division to Volvo in 2018 and all the new versions since then are under their brand name.

Not my photo, but pretty much what it looked like this morning.

Or, did it have the connections for a snow plow? You see that on a lot of trucks fitted with plows.
