That VR6 engine is a good one. My wife has one in her Jetta and it was pretty strong and made it fun to drive.
Porsche 2 seater - 1973 on the road, being refurbished
sorry, no photos
I think those Honda Motocompactos look cool… without anyone on them.
But then we saw one in traffic, with a six-foot guy trying to balance with his knees sticking out at right angles.
One of my kids could not stop laughing, and the other one just said “Well, he looks stupid.”
Just when I thought they couldn’t get uglier…
While I was out and about yesterday I encountered:
- An old Fiat 124 Spider.
- A Plymouth Prowler
- The same 1970s Ford station wagon I mentioned back on Mar. 12.
One of these is parked just down the street from where I now live:

Today I saw a dune buggy on the road, of the classic rear engine VW based variety.
I spotted an MV-1 basic taxi unit on the highway today. I also saw a Ford Probe, which stopped production in 1997. I have to say, while I never liked the looks of that model but this car was in fantastic shape.
Not today, but over the weekend I saw big SUV, maybe a Ford Expedition, weird slate green(?) color. It had 2-3 inch bright green stencils of the Insane Clown Posse Hatchet Man in various rotations and directions all over the entire vehicle. Easily over a hundred stencils. Lot of stuff in rear window but really couldn’t get a look other than more ICP stuff. Some Juggalo put a lotta love into that vehicle.
Can’t hide the ugly, though.
There was a cybertruck on our street yesterday. (The first time I saw one on this street.)
It was a really, really ugly red and black thing (in addition to being ugly to being with). Not the red-black fade vinyl wrap model. Looked like something a kid would paint on a model car.
AGREED.
When I was shooting my pictures yesterday, the owner came out of McDonald’s. Since he was right there I lied and said, “Nice truck!” I was merely being polite. But I’m not a fan of the CT.
Cadillac Optiq, first one I’ve seen in the wild. It looks good enough, but I prefer some of the other more recent Caddy model styling.
Yesterday evening I saw a 1930s or 40s Dodge pickup on the road. I mostly just saw the back of it, so it’s hard to pin down exactly how old it was (and they didn’t really change all that much during that era). But the picture below looks sort of like what I saw. You don’t often see Dodge trucks from that era; as I understand they were never as common as their Ford and GM competitors.
