What's the most interesting car you saw today?

This discussion reminds me that back in 1995 I took a 3,000 mile roadtrip vacation driving in a Geo Metro hatchback (with its 3-cyl engine) with two other adults, from San Francisco down to Cabo San Lucas. It belonged to one of the friends. I did almost all of the driving, which I enjoy doing and the other two were perfectly happy with.

That little Geo Metro performed like a champ (but not a Plymouth Champ, LOL) and it got great fuel economy too.

(Actually my first father-in-law had a Plymouth Champ in the early 1980s and that was a decent little car)

Driving from Nashville to Raleigh today, we saw a 1958 Dodge Desoto.

I was driving, so no photo.

My wife drove her Chevy Sprint (also a 3 cyl.) From Colorado to Alaska. It was actually a pretty good little car.

I had a VW Scirocco hatch back that was great. I hi-powed the engine.

My bother called it the Green Hornet. :slight_smile:

Inna and I saw a Fisker Karma being driven yesterday.

I saw this the other day on one of those Australian/New Zealand murder mystery shows; the show was only a couple years old:

Looks to me like someone stretched out an AMC Pacer another 15 feet.

I know it’s a small picture, but I grabbed it from my dashcam:

“The Musks of Hazzard”?

Nitpick: It’s just a 1958 Desoto, not a Dodge Desoto. Desoto was its own separate brand.

Interestingly (to me, anyway) in the late 1950s Chrysler had just as many car brands as GM:

Plymouth = Chevy competitor
Dodge = Pontiac competitor
Desoto = Oldsmobile competitor
Chrysler = Buick competitor
Imperial = Cadillac competitor

Took a morning walk on Delray Beach FL and spotted these beauties:

Didn’t have a camera with me, but there was a nice-looking blue Maserati at the casino this afternoon.

A white Smart car with a roof rack & not one, but two Little Giants on top; even they were longer than the roofline.

They’re were probably heavier than the car.

(Joking aside, those things are heavy as shit, I hate having to drag mine out).

SLUG BUG!!

And two for flinching.

IIRC, those convertible VW Beetles are worth extra points in the game.

And rightfully so.

A Beetle convertible was a sweet ride. :+1:

I’m guessing it’s a lowrider, but the style (wrap, I assume) appears to be a thing. A google image search brings up a lot of other similar looking cars.

And I just noticed the brake has a blue cover over it. That’s a good way to get yourself pulled over.

I’ve seen (usually jeeps) that have their round front headlamps rimmed with
red LED (?) light. Um no. Do not put red lights on front of your vehicle. Idiots.

I don’t know if it’s a factory option or aftermarket, but I’ve seen Jeeps where the rings around the headlights change color. My guess is you can also set them to a specific color, but yeah red seems like not such a great idea.
