What's the most interesting car you saw today?

I see Ghiblis now practically every time I drive to the north of where I live, (more upscale direction). They start at $70 some k, there’s a dealer nearby, area with lots of equally or more expensive Mercedes, BMW, Porsche etc., so not surprising they’ve become common.

Cars have to be at least $150k+ to be notable around here. A guy in the neighborhood sometimes parks his Lamborghini Huracan on the street, on an urban street, in what used to be a scruffy area though not really anymore. It would still give me a panic attack to do that, recalling dirt bags breaking my old Buick’s window to go through the glove compartment, though again that was years ago. I saw an Aventador the other day in valet parking section of the mall.

A guy at my parking garage has a Porsche 911 Turbo S. That’s a stealthy near super car. It’s almost $200k, over 200mph, gets some attention, but some Italian super brand models which get way more aren’t are fast.

I enjoy noticing the nice cars and sharing them here, and seeing what else is out there (or the unique or classic or super-exotic cars or other vehicle types, what have you). It’s a moment of joy in my day.

Thanks again to Telemark for this fun thread, I am enjoying it.
Today, a nice, green Triumph TR7. THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME.

Okay, a nice try but that doesn’t quite do it. This is the old Triumph ad I was trying to conjure:

Or this, is better:

But, for the hetero guys, or ayone who prefers the ladies, this is even better  (CAREFUL, possibly NSFW:

The TR7 didn’t have any markings but I am pretty sure it was a TR7 and not a TR8 because it didn’t have the hood bulge. This one was a convertible, so was extra nice and extra rare. In Triumph-speak (according to Wikipedia anyway) that makes it a TR7 DHC, for Drophead Coupé (DHC), which first went on sale in the US in 1979.

My very first car was a 1979, and people often thought it was the TR7. Front engine, how passé. Mid engine is where it’s at!

Low, squat, boxy, edgy wedge, and uncommon: a 2003 Cadillac XLR.

Then later, the new Toyota Prius, in white. From the rear 3/4 view the C-pillar disappears. (image)

A 1966 Sunbeam Tiger, immaculate in burgundy. Dribble dribble drool.

Someone in my neighborhood has a '71 ‘Boattail’ Buick Riviera, in the same dark green as in the photo linked below.

A friend in HS had one of those. No idea which engine it had but it was underpowered and drove like a barge. But you could always find it in a parking lot.

Dang. We had our first snowstorm here on Friday. All interesting cars are in hibernation now.

Saw my first F-Pace in the wilds of rural Alberta on Sunday. I wasn’t thrilled with the idea of a Jag SUV but I may have to revise my opinion as it’s a much better looking car in person as opposed to pictures.

The opposite ends of the electric car spectrum; a BMW i8 in white with blue accents, and a Smart fortwo electric with the cutest little flames painted behind the front wheels.

Mazda RX-7, 3rd gen, bright yellow

In Carmel yesterday, a 1940(?) Buick Woody Wagon.

This was a new one for me; a Citroën H Van, age indeterminate but it was produced from 1947-81. It was parked in front a community club in a gated area, very distinctive and out of place in the greater Boston area.

Interesting. I’ve never seen one of those before. Here is the Wikipedia picture of it.

Today, a VW Beetle - the 1.8T “Dune” version. Here’s a pic: vw beetle 1.8T dune - Google Search.

It was very clear when I found it online. The corrugated panels are pretty distinct.

It looks like something out of Star Wars, like that garbage hauler thing in the very first one, from 1976, the one that collected R2D2 and C3PO. On a much smaller scale, of course.

Light blue Datsun 240Z

On my way home from the grocery store today, i was driving behind a perfect cherry-red Isetta.

There aren’t too many cars on the road that look small from the driver’s seat of my Civic coupe.

A silver '76 Olds 98 Regency

Apparently, a ground-up restoration to showroom condition

I was wrong. It snowed again Monday night into Tuesday morning. On my morning commute, I saw a Corvette C7 battling the slippery, salty road alongside me in early rush hour traffic. What the heck?

Owner must have a lot of disposable income, is my guess.

Today a very (VERY!) nice Porsche 914-6 with a custom painted almost candy apple red (although a darker shade) and nice fender flares. Very sweet, quite rare.
