Whats the name of this damn song.....

Verse like:

“I like a girl with a short skirt … and a long coat”

Its kinda popular right now but I never get to hear who does it.

“Short skirt, long jacket” - Cake

Thanks … shoulda guessed it, I guess.

Now that that’s settled, what’s this song…I believe it’s from the 80’s and the chorus goes a bit like this:

“I’ll give you candy,
give you diamonds,
give you pills,
I’ll give you anything you want,
Hundred dollar bills”

I’d sing the music for you, but, you know. It being typed and all.

It appears to be “Anything, Anything” by Drama-Rama

Absoluetly! Great band! It appears on Cinema Verite and a greatest hits album.

They also had a (very small) hit with “Last Cigarette”.

There was a fairly straightforward cover of “Anything, anything” over the closing credits of “Road Trip”, performed by Buckcherry.

I might as well…

In the movie “She’s All That,” there’s song about smoke…“she creeps up like smoke, with a little come on, come on…”

Apparently the movie had no soundtrack, because I can’t find it anywhere. But I really would like a copy of the song.

N4S, seems to be Afghan Whigs, “66”, from their album 1965.

Damn, beat me to it. Yep, it’s Afghan Whigs “66”

Ok, I have one. It’s a fairly new hard rock song that I’ve been hearing once in a while on the radio, and the only part of it I can remember is the last bit of the chorus that goes “Wasting my time. Wasting my time.”

Any ideas?

Check here to see if it’s Blink-182’s “Wasting Time.”

So what was the song playing last week on ER as Abby packed up her stuff at the beginning? It sounded like a Cake song as well.

Rillian, do you recall any of the lyrics?

Somewhat on topic, but I have a question as well. A few years ago I heard a remake of Public Enemy’s “Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos” (got a letter from the government the other day…). It was done by a woman, and I could swear it was Fiona Apple.

So I guess my question is, who did this damn song?

No, it’s not a punk song. It almost sounds like something Nicleback would put out, but it’s not. Anyone else have any idea?
