Anyone else actually stopped to visit Harmony, California?
Been up the CN tower, but don’t recall how high we went.
I’ll see your CN tower and raise you a Maid of the Mist ride.
I’ve been on the Maid Of The Mist, and also through the tunnels behind the Falls.
At the CN Tower, you pay one fee to go up to the first, enclosed level. Up there, there’s another elevator that you pay even more money to get on. It’s only available when the wind is below a certain speed. That takes you to the outdoor observation level. You can see the steam coming off Niagara Falls from that height.
OK, how about standing on the highway between Regina and Saskatoon, with nothing but prairie from horizon to horizon?
The bridge of the Starship Enterprise. Shortly after production of STIII:The Search for Spock was completed, I had the opportunity to tour the set at Paramount Studios. The walls in the turbolift are covered with rubber carpet padding, by the way.
On a similar note, I’ve eaten several times in the Delegates Dining Room in the UN. I also did research for a high school paper in the UN library. I’ve also eaten in the Secretariat cafeteria, where I had my one and only encounter with liverwurst.
Only to the airport in Monrovia, on my way to and from the Congo. Didn’t get off, so I don’t know if it counts.
An even more unique spot nearby is Primghar. It says it’s the only Primghar in the world and I believe it. The unique method of naming the town was that it’s composed of the first initials of the last names of the town’s founders.
I would have said Dunmovin, CA but I’m sure some LA basin skiers have been there on the way to Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort.
How about the extensive petroglyph area on the Naval Air Weapons Station at China Lake, CA?

The Green Lantern wasn’t exactly known as a purveyor of Chinese food.*
I demand to know where the Green Lantern is! I’ve GOT to go there!! Sheesh, I don’t even recognize the building. My husband is going to love this plan.
What in the hell? My message is too short to post?!
Let’s see: I’m going to guess: Pakrac, Croatia or perhaps Lipik, Croatia. Gornij Vakuf, Bosnia, is a possibility, but I wouldn’t be surprised if some UN types here have been there.
Or how about Khiva, Uzbekistan? It has just enough tourism that I think somebody here has probably been there.
Just thought of one more, I have relatives in Tinderbox, Tasmania, Australia.
Here you go. You sure that’s what you were looking for?
Any other Doper ever been in Suwon, South Korea? I was there in 1976, while stationed for thirteen months at Camp Humphries, South Korea. I think at the time Suwon was said to have 60000 people. There was a big cultural park, with exhibits of architecture, crafts, trades, and so on, from different areas of the country, and through their history. I saw a drum and dance performance that was great, and bought some chewy type of candy covered with sesame seeds. Tasty, I should have got more. I had enough of the language that I talked with a local family visiting, and played a jumping game, on a sort of ground based teeter totter, with their kids.
Not at all. I’m looking for a brothel in Ely, NV. But that one looks interesting, too!
I spent several days in Prishtina and Peje. Even got saluted by a KFOR soldier for some reason (I am not military).
I’ve been so close! (Though perhaps I’ve been through it on one of Grandpa’s drives around the area.)
Yup. But has anyone else visited Darwin CA?
No, but I’ve been to the Jeffers MN petroglyphs
I’ve been to Kyustendil province, but not Boboshevo. We were travelling along the 6 highway, not the 1.
Damascus? Cotopaxi, Vilcabamba, Tena, all in Ecuador? Graeagle CA? Big Knob MI?
Yup. Did you go to the Plazas? Or Rabida?

According to this site the lantern is no more. But that page also says the Big 4 Ranch is no more butthe website for the Big 4 makes that info look wrong.
The brothels are located on the North west end of town on High Street.
Have fun!
I was stationed in Sigonella, Sicily between 1984 and 1986. And I’ve been to the House on the Rock (weird place) and Harmony, CA. We were motorcycling on CA-1 (heading for Monterey) and stopped at the little cafe in Harmony for lunch.
Betcha nobody’s been to Pittsville, WI.
I’ve been to Cotopaxi (though not to the peak - we got blown off about 100 m below the top) and halfway to Tena (Baeza). I’ve gone through Graeagle several times (the last time was two weeks ago), but never stopped there. To be honest, I’m not even sure where I would stop to say I visited Graeagle.
I didn’t get to the Rabida or the Plazas when I was in the Galapagos - I actually only saw San Cristobal and Española. Next time… (and there will be a next time).
