What's the one place you've been to that no other Doper has visited?

I’ve been through Intercourse* twice. In one hour. With my husband’s best friend. and his wife, my husband and infant son.
*Pennsylvania.

Yeah, it’s hardly exotic, but it is always good for a laugh.

With a little planning, you could have been engaged in Intercourse too.

And what of Whittier, Ela, and Bryson City, NC?
Ding! On Bryson City, anyway.
Brandywine River Museum in Chadds Ford, PA?
I think I may have. When I was 7-13, we lived in Blue Bell. I seem to remember either a school or family trip down there.

Howzzabout the Barnes Museum ?

Nobody’s mentioned my other one: Dutch Is., RI

Just out of curiosity, how many other Dopers have stood in or near the splash pool at the foot of Fall Creek Falls, TN, which (according to TN stats) is the highest waterfall (at 256’) east of the Rockies? If not that far down, then at least the overlook at the top of the falls? Or who, in dry weather, have waded across the creek (or used a plank walkway to cross it) to stand at the top of them?

Better yet, who has been to a higher waterfall than FCF east of the Rockies? (At least one in North Georgia makes such a claim).

Its very nice there. (There’s a very nice winery there too, in case you want to give someone a bottle in Intercourse’s Best. )

How about Lake Ariel, PA…?

Or the Ice Caves of Ellenville, NY. (curse you, Mobil Travel Map…!) Come for the ‘Rainbow Cave’; stay for the winery 2 miles away and because you’ll need a drink when you discover…

…that the only thing that makes the ‘Rainbow Cave’ any different from the other caves along the trail is the string of Christmas Tree lights strung from one end to the other. Now, aren’t you glad you drove all that way…?

Bogota or Cartagena Colombia?

Westport or Cliffden ROI…?

or even New Gretna…?
(what the hell did they do with the Old Gretna…? :dubious:  )
One more: the ghost town of St. Elmo, Colorado?
Not there, but I have been to some ghost towns:

Dillon, MT
Virginia City, MT
Nevada City, MT
Garnet, MT
Ingomar, MT
Fortuna, ND

Tripler
And a couple more that I forget. . .
Who has been to House on the Rock in WI?
I went there several times when I lived in Madison, WI. Very surreal.
How about on top of Sugar Loaf Mountain looking out over Lake Superior?

Then I s’pose you’ve been to Hancock, Houghton, Calumet, and Copper Harbor, too?

I came -><- thiiiis close to going. Glad I didn’t. (But I’ve been to Ellenville before - at least in a drive-through.)
Pendennis Castle I would guess. {snip}
Snap! Stayed at the YHA there about 7 years ago! Also stayed around the corner at Perranporth. Lovely views, but the weather was bracing in mid-May!

Let’s see - what unusual places have I been that other Dopers might not have visited?

Kovalam in Kerala, India
Al Ain, UAE
Salalah, Oman
Jubail Industrial City, Saudi Arabia
Peshawar, Pakistan
Sana’a, Yemen
Kampala, Uganda (we had great pizza at the Speke Hotel!)
Stonetown, Zanzibar, Tanzania

Bogota or Cartagena Colombia?
I’ve been to Cartegena for a weekend. One of the more stupid military decisions I’d seen, IMNSHO. Because, at the time, there was a credible terrorist threat, we got combat pay for that liberty port. :smack:

Two summers ago! Fall Creek Falls, that is.

I’ve been to Copper Harbor…took the ferry there to Isle Royale.
Let’s try these…
[ul]
[li]Maho Bay Eco-resort, St. John, US Virgin Islands[/li][/ul]
Been there, done that, loved it.
Bodie, CA anyone?
Oh yeah! I dug that place. Got some bitchin’ pictures, too! The non-sequitir art out there is really neat.

Impressive, ain’t it? It’s been a long time (early 70’s in the spring after lots of rain) since I sat a good 100 feet from the foot of the falls and got drenched by the mist. In later years the flow has been way weaker and the mist practically nonexistent. Still, it’s awe-inspiring.

How about Swarmsville, NY?
Yes on Swarmsville, there was a great Italian restaurant there when I was growing up. Here’s a weird thing – all my life, I have called it “Swarmsville” but google thinks it is “Swarmville” (with no S). Huh.

Um, anyone else been to Kyle, South Dakota? I think that’s the smallest place I’ve been that was actually a place. Unless Manderson, SD is smaller. They seemed about the same to me.

I thought of one other out-of-the-way place I’ve been: The Little House Wayside near Pepin, WI. It took some doing to find it. I was on a little pilgrimage from Pepin to the Black Hills, stopping at the “Little House” sites along the way.
In Florida, I doubt anyone has been to Little Gasparilla Island.
Yep, I believe I have.

How about Bagdad, FL?
