What's the one place you've been to that no other Doper has visited?

One more: the Members’ dining room at Parliament in London.

Really! Are you from around Elmwood or is that just your user name? Have you eaten Bacci Pizza? Had wings at Duff’s? Did you go to Camp Lakeland, too?

cool.

Been there. Family in Williams Lake.

Been there. Bierstube.

Yep. We live in Baltimore-or-less.

I’ve been to the first three, Dave has been to Accident.

I’ll bet, but not money, that no one else has been in Webster, WI.

This thread reminds me of a tale of one of my nephews. He is a whiz on California geography as a hobby. When he was going to college his roommate kept trying to stump him of place names and locations without any success.

Finally, one day, he came into the room with a big grin and said that he had found one that would stump my nephew.

“OK, shoot.”

“Ridgecrest, gotcha.”

“I was born there.”

Oops, I’ve been there. As long as we’re in Utah, how about the Great Gallery in Canyonlands?

I was in a former RCA studio in Hollywood a few years ago - I’ll have to ask my husband who recorded there. I can’t entirely remember. It may very well have been the same one. This is the one he recorded at. I do remember that the portable acoustic panels were used by Jimi Hendrix.

Anyone for Sego Canyon, Utah?

No, but it is planned for next year.

Been there 3 times.

Druid Arch, Canyonlands?

I’ve been through Ely on my way to visit relatives in Elko, but I didn’t stop longer than it took to look at the GPS on my Blackberry to make sure I was going the right way.

I don’t know about now, but in the early 90’s I was either the first, or one of the first Americans to set foot in, or at least land in a plane without crashing it, in places like Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskii, in Kamchatka Russia, as well as Vladisvostok, and areas around their submarine bases Americans would not normally have been allowed. Been lots of places out in the country with the locals, as well as other areas across Siberia.

Anyone here have to spend the night in Khabarovsk, north of Vladivostok?

Went to high school and college on Elmwood Avenue.
Eaten more than my share of Bocce Club pizza, from both the Eggertsville and East Amherst locations.
My parents actually met at Duff’s, long before they were known for wings.
Never went to Camp Lakeland, though.

How about the island of San Andres, Colombia? It’s off the coast of Nicaragua, but it’s owned by Colombia. I was there in 1977.

The top of the Great Pyramid at Chichen Itza.

I’ve touched the Hollywood sign.

Hubby’s old boss was there for a month. I’ve got some cool pictures.

Yup, Greater Cleveland. I’m pretty sure that the river the canoe base itself was on was the Tinnerman River, but it was long enough ago that I’m not certain that that river fed directly into the bay, and not into some other river first. But yeah, you might (for all either of us know) have been there, too.

I may have another one, though. From what I’ve heard, the triple divide point for the Great Lakes, the Mississippi River, and the Atlantic Ocean lies in the middle of the farm of a family friend in Pennsylvania, and I think I’ve been to that farm.

How about way out in the Kimberely in West Australia? Anyone who likes “Man vs. Wild” may have seen it, although he was there during the wet season. I’m going to have to go with either that or Thiès Senegal. Those are probably the most remote / obscure places I’ve been to.

Closest to paradise I’ve ever been. You might enjoy this site.

Dummy - it’s the Kobuk River in Alaska (the Selway is in Idaho). Now back to your regularly scheduled programming …

White Sulphur Springs, Montana? But that is directly on Route 12, so probably someone else has driven through there on their way to somewhere else.

How about the waterfall on Granite Creek near Lake Chelan, in Washington? I’m not even sure if visiting it is legal, but I’ve been there, and I don’t think anyone that I know to have been there is on the boards.

Ahhh… What site is that?

When were you there? It’s pretty restricted now. The only reason old boss was there, was because the company had an obligation to provide support.
I don’t think they’re even doing that any more.
The only people allowed there now are a few biologists that monitor the bird populations. They only allow landings once or twice a month.
Oh, I have another. The ice caves in the Mt Baker wilderness.

Been there. Ever stop by the Green Lantern? Have you gone down to Rachel and visited the Little Al’Le’Inn?

Been there also.

Here in California has anyone been to Murphys? or Inskip and seen Charlie?

Sadr City neighborhood of Baghdad? or
Kabul, Afghanistan?
Kosovo?
Norilsk, Siberia?

I lead a charmed life.

Never been down to Rachel, but I go to Ely ON PURPOSE. Hehe…that never fails to get a chuckle out of most people.
Is the Green Lantern that chinese joint? I’m totally serious here.
I guess by extension I’ll add the Lehmann Caves. If you have a chance to go see it, do. It’s beautiful in there. Even to a claustrophobic.
