What's the straight dope on this UFO video?

Until it moved (which happened on a separate filming), the close up of the UFO definitely looked like the planet Venus to me. I would need to know the angular distance from the Sun, it’s position and see if it matched the phase it was in.

As for the part of the piece where it was moving, it could have been anything.

Even more compelling is…Manhattan, what are you doing here and why are you banned inside of an hour from your post? Ah, things are not what they seem _ _ _ _ _ that goes for UFO’s as well as imposters. There is an answer to everything.

And as for it moving…it could have been the clouds that were doing the moving.

Ahem.

That there news anchor’s darn purrrty. I like them blondes.

Oh, wait. . . UFOs? Yeah, um, they look good. And stuff. . .

Tripler
. . . mmmmmmm, anchor.

Does anyone know the date of that broadcast?

When I hear “Air Force base” (or airport or airfield or anything else suggesting airplanes) in a UFO report (at 2:31), my first thoughts tend to run toward flares.

But Venus is a good alternate theory.

Hmmm… I personally don’t believe in the UFO thing…

But, I have to admit that held my attention.

Now I’m curious to know how he pulled that off. I don’t think it would be Venus fooling a “reporter” like that.

Am I mistaken or did it move pretty fast in the stablized shot where you could see the light tower?

Maybe it’s to create a buzz for the War of the Worlds movie!

I still have my doubts tho’, but I can offer no explanation!

I wouldn’t rule this out. They’ve been doing strange stuff with “viral marketing” these days. If it is marketing, look for a web presence soon. Although I’d think that naming the guy “Yahweh” would offend a lot of people. Isn’t that the Hebrew spelling of Jehovah, who just-so-happens-to-be God?

By the way, wasn’t this the plot of a Brady Bunch episode?
I cancelled my cable subscription two years ago because I realized that the news I see on TV had absolutely nothing to do with the real world. From time to time it’s nice to see that I made the right decision.

It looked a lot like a meteorological balloon to me.

The report is from KTNV Action News in Las Vegas, Nevada. The posted news story has a 31 May 2005 date.

So, what’s your theory going to be when people all over Los Angeles see that thing next week?

You’d be surprised how scientifically deficient most reporters are. It’s like an achille’s heel to them.

Yep.

Well, it’s unidentified, it’s flying, and it’s an object, so it’s clearly a UFO.

Well, one thing is for certain. The guy doing the “summoning” is a complete nutcase.

I didn’t click the link, but I think it’s related to Prophet Yaweh (however he spells it).

He’s been featured on the old Art Bell show pretty regularly of late. It seems he is summoning a UFO to land here between June first and fifteenth. Last night he said he didin’t promise to have the UFO land, just to summon it. I think I hear some back-peddling already and it’s only the second!
