It was 20 F when I headed out for a run at 6:00 this morning. Somerville, MA.
It’s now 8:30pm and 30C. There’s not a lot of temperature variation in the southern tropics at this time of year.
West central Indiana. 7:46am. 1 degree, with a -9 windchill.
Temperature’s taken a sudden dip today. Apparently it’s 0C here at the moment, but was around 10C a few days ago.
Montreal: -10, with predicted low tonight of -14 (that’s 14 and 7, for the metrically challenged). Also, it is snowing lightly and more is predicted for tomorrow and Thursday.
Saturday, it was 75 (F). Sunday through today, it’s ranged from 38-45 (F).
New Orleans area.
Bancroft, Ontario: -13C. It was cold enough today to make my face hurt as I walked to the post office. On the other hand, the rest of me was toasty-warm. The key is dressing for it: parka, Sorels, etc… but I should have worn a scarf.
25C and 70% humidity, much the same as yesterday, and very pleasant summer weather. Not too hot while I’m doing my Christmas shopping.
What’s a sorel?
A brand of winter boot. A serious winter boot for “it’s -30 and you have to dig the car out”-type situations. Which haven’t happend yet here* this winter but it’s not actually winter yet so it’s only a matter of time. ![]()
[sub]*Those guys buried down London way? That’s lake-effect snow. We’re too far east for it; we’re in the highlands and get less snow, but it does get colder here.[/sub]

DC has been in the low 20s (F). It’s the coldest I’ve ever been. But I got to see it snow for the first time in my life, and that was amazing.
Yup - I wear my sorels when I go out walking in serious cold weather. They keep my feet completely toasty.
It was 70°F in Denver today. Seriously. All time record for the date.
Right now it’s -8F at and 22 miles north of me it’s -20F. I hope I can start the truck to get food.
Currently, the thermostat reads 1 degree F. Cold!
21 degrees F here in NE Ohio. Brrrrrrrrrr.
It’s 50 degrees F (10 C) at 3:33 pm in a suburb north of San Francisco. Gonna go for a walk.
Central Florida, near Orlando. Right now it’s 62. It’s 6:50 p.m. here.
Yesterday 34 for a high
Today 59 for a fucking high.
Some kind of a freeze (slush) somewhere here in West Georgia, but don’t quote me on it.
Q
45 F or so…warm enough that I have the balcony door open. Portland, Or. It has been much colder already this season and will be again soon, but for now, no ice, no freezing winds, a nice breather.
