As for child porn, I used to post on an R.E.M. fansite whose moderator wasn’t moderating and they couldn’t find another one, and that site’s message board started getting spammed with porn which featured models that looked like junior high kids. :eek: At least, I HOPE they looked like junior high kids and weren’t the real thing. That website has since been taken down (and no, it wasn’t Murmurs).
This probably doesn’t bode well for people’s opinions of me, but Goatse doesn’t bother me as much as it should. At first, I was shocked when I saw it, but when I saw the guy was wearing a wedding ring, I couldn’t help but laugh.
I don’t know why, but I just find that hilarious, and it lessens any shock-value that the picture has for me.
I hear ya, brother! Goatse and Tubgirl are pretty weak sauce in the grand scheme of the internet. They just have good publicists.
The one that’s stuck with me recently is one somebody from The Dope linked to I think.
It shows a user of Krokodil, that drug that rots your flesh, at a hospital with a half rotted off leg. His bone is fully exposed and his flesh from the knee down is just hanging on like a stretched out sock. ~shudder~
The weirdest part is the hospital staff person takes a sharp flexible wire and starts sawing off this guys leg at the bone. It seems to take forever.
The guy’s just sitting there getting his leg sawed off. It’s all dead flesh. He can’t feel a thing.

Why would anyone even dare try that Krokodil drug after knowing the crazy side effects.

From other things I’ve read: rich 18 year old girl was doing drugs, dad found out and took her car keys. She stole her father’s Porsche 911, probably while on cocaine, clipped another car at high speed and slammed into a concrete toll-both at around 100mph.
Photos of the crash got out and trolls started emailing them to her family under the guise of other, legitimate correspondance.
I know that it’s a fake, but breast rash creeps me the hell out. I’ve only seen it once, about three years ago, but just thinking about it gives me the willies.
That post about krokodil reminded me of the Facebook memes that circulated extensively after the Boston Marathon bombing, thanking the first responders - and accompanied by extremely graphic photos of victims with their limbs blown off and bones exposed. I’m not the only person who pointed out that not only can many people not handle looking at things like that, the dignity of the victims should also be kept in mind. If that happened to you, would you want a picture of it plastered all over the world? I certainly wouldn’t.
This was only up for a few hours - it is both a horrifying and beautiful.
An 18 year old girl stole her father’s Carrera (the fancy 911, however spelled)
She ended up approaching a toll plaza at about 100. She clipped a sedan and became airborne. Ended up in a “L” shape, with the nose running up the side of the toll building, and the rear on the ground.
There was a series of shots, each a bit closer.
The final was beyond gross - the right side of he face had been scraped off - from under the chin to the middle of he scalp - bare bone. The tissues was a bloody blob hanging down. The neck was in a position inconsistent with life, and both eyeballs were dangling by their optic nerves.
The wonderful thing was the father wrote to the sites, explaining she had a younger sister, and, while he could not make demands, did ask that the last pic be removed because he didn’t want her sister to see her like that.
And the web actually had a conscience and pulled that last pic.
I will never understand how EMR’s, cops, firefighters, etc. EVER get a decent night’s sleep.

If the Goatse image popped up for the very first time today, it would probably have two or three days of hot traffic on /b/, and maybe a few months of life as the basis for photo memes. (I’m thinking of good captions even as I type.)
But in 1999, the relative infancy of the web, that was some shocking shit. :eek:
I’ve seen most mentioned here, and will make a point to try to remember those that I haven’t so as to avoid them. Nasty stuff really sticks with me.
The worst I’ve seen and not mentioned was about a 5 minute video from a security cam in a subway in which for no apparent reason (my guess is some kind of initiation ritual), a gang of about a dozen teens attacked a middle-aged man boarding a train. The man fought bravely for the first minute or so, and actually knocked a few of them down before their sheer numbers overwhelmed him. Once he was on the ground, the stomping began and continued well after he had obviously lost consciousness. Most ran away after a minute or two of stomping, but 2 stayed and continued, obviously doing their best to kill.
That video still bothers me when I think about. Alot. I try not to think of it.

Another vote for the Daniel Pearl video. Saw it when I was young, impressionable, and beginning to travel the world. Left quite an impression on me regarding the consequences of a misstep in a 3rd world country.
OH! Your mention of subways reminded me of a video I saw where a man was standing on train tracks in a station. Another man on the platform is waving frantically at him, it’s unclear if the man on the tracks has intended to be there.
A train comes into the station, and the front of the locomotive pushes the man on the tracks towards the platform as the train impacts him. The platform catches the man, he’s pinched between the passing train and the stationary platform. His upper body spins like a top because of the forward movement of the train against the platform (think of spinning a vertical pencil along it’s longitudinal axis with your palms facing each other), and presumably his lower body is turned into hamburger as there is approximately 2" of clearance between the train and platform. It’s soul-killing to see his upper body relax as the life drains from him.

For me it was probably something on rotten dot com. I think that’s where I saw the pic of the guy whose entire lower face was blasted away by a shotgun.
Also, the pic of the guy being wheeled away from the Boston Marathon bombing, with both legs blown off and shreds of bone and bright red tissue and blood…and the guy was awake.
And the photos of the teenage girl decapitated in an auto accident. I don’t even know why I looked for those–I’d read a story about her parents trying desperately to get them removed from the net, and I wanted to see how easy they were to find. Sadly, they were very easy. 
I have never looked for any videos. I can look at horrific stuff if it’s in stills (even color stills) but not video.
Also, I deliberately avoid any shots (still or video) of cats being harmed, because they would invariably make me lose it.
I think it’s a toss-up, either:
-Stumbling onto a site I can only describe as scat-porn, women just covered in it. I’m sure there’s a term for it, and I don’t want to know what it is. It was so…I couldn’t stop laughing, it was just so bad. How much to they PAY you? There is no way it can be enough.

A former co-worker grew up in Togo. She told me that when she was a school girl, walking home one day with her friends, they came across some townspeople who had caught an alleged thief. The townspeople tied the guy to a tree and burned him alive. My former co-worker was only about ten or eleven and, of course, powerless to do anything but walk away, traumatized.
She’s a little younger than me so this was in the late 1990s in Togo.
I remembered another - I saw a video a year or maybe two ago of a teenage boy, maybe Russian (?) tossing puppies in to a fast flowing river. Ugh, and that just made me remember the drop kick puppy off a cliff video.
