What's wrong with Netflix?

Haven’t had any of the last few DVDs I returned noted yet, nor does my queue show any new ones shipped out all this week.

I called and just got a recorded message that they were experiencing problems in the distributions centers. I guess probably computer problems.

Anybody know just what is wrong, and when they’ll be back in business?

I got a new one Tuesday (shipped Monday). I got an email from them today about the distribution problems.

There’s another thread on this somewhere, but basically everyone’s experiencing it. They only received two of mine this week, but they’ve sent emails saying that they’re having problems this week.

Here is an explanation.

Ugh, all of my empty slots have now changed to “We expect to ship your next available movie by Friday.”

I’m glad the Olympics are on, but I have a 3 day weekend and was looking forward to catching up on some dvds from my queue as well.

They said they were shipping two of my discs yesterday but it still says “Shipping Wed” and I received no notification. Looks like it’s going to be a meatless winter.

Of course, this had to happen right as I came down with strep throat and have nothing better to do for the next two days than lay in bed and catch up on The West Wing.

I got my latest disc today after all, right on schedule. I should theoretically get another tomorrow, but I won’t cry if it’s a little late.

I have the big red warning on my queue page, and even though I got my disks yesterday, only a day late, their status still shows “Shipping Wednesday”.

My queue is totally messed up now. They were processing a DVD for shipping yesterday, but now it has disappeared and they have listed my previous DVD as “shipped” instead of received.

Anyone else having a crazy queue?

My queue is saying one of my movies will be shipping shortly. The same DVD I just returned on Monday.

Okay, I received one DVD yesterday. I guess I should just be patient and I guess reporting my DVDs that I sent back a couple days ago isn’t really going to help…

You’re lucky, I haven’t had one since Monday. Four listed as will be shipped Friday. Now, I just took a look, and the four won’t be shipped until Monday (they say). Bummer!

I’m suddenly glad it took me so long to get around to the two TV series DVDs I have at home. Should provide enough entertainment to weather this harsh winter of missed content.

::applause!::

Okay, now my queue is wonky, too. They got another one of my Beverly Hills DVDs and now my Batman Returns DVD which was at the top has disappeared from the entire queue. I hope that means they’ll ship it soon, hopefully for tomorrow, but who knows.

Waah! My next DVD apparently shipped Wednesday, so I should have gotten it Thursday. But it’s not here yet and I go back to college on Sunday! It’s gonna arrive (if it ever arrives) at the wrong address. Boo.

Looks like something went seriously wonky…

Does anyone else think that the whole reason this happened is because thousands of people like me just cashed in their free month which we earned by being members during their shipping-camping period, which resulted in a class action lawsuit? Since we’re not paying for our memberships right now, they can’t credit our accounts, but they CAN save a million dollars on saving a couple days of having to ship us our free dvds, thus shorting our free memberships…gee Netflix, this is a GREAT way to show that you’ve changed and no longer delay shippings if our memberships start to become unprofitable to you!

Word is one of the db admins screwed up an Oracle update. But certainly they would have a backup system. Or they can take the site down for a couple of hours. It sounds fishy
