What’s your bed time?
11 p.m. Once upon a time, many moons ago, I used to watch the 11 o’clock news, Jay Leno, then David Letterman, then… Now, I’m yawning by 10. Some nights, if work’s been crazy, I’ll do a crazy-early bedtime–8 or so. (This is usually a nap which turns into getting up to wash face, stumble around, brush teeth, and take the dog out for a walkie, before going back down.)
What’s your bed time routine (if you have one)?
Around 10:45 p.m. announce to husband I’m getting ready to go to bed. Reluctantly close down browser, er, I mean, stop working on novel. Take doggie out (she’s been walked after dinner, but needs to visit the grass), smoke half a cigarette, take off makeup, brush teeth, get into a sleeping tee, take vitamin, give doggie her toothpaste, kiss hus… zzzz.
When do you empty the dishwasher, take the garbage out, pay the bills, clean the toilet, run the laundry, and all the rest? For us, that all gets done in bits and pieces during week after arriving home from work and heading to bed. Along with not-chore activities like walking dog, playing with dog, gardening/weeding, reading, surfing, writing, puttering around the house.
In an ideal world, how many hours of sleep would you get a night?
Eight or nine sound lovely.
In the real world, how many hours of sleep do you get a night?
Six. The alarm goes off at 6:30 a.m. Once in a blue moon, I get to hit the snooze button, or decide I’m not getting up until 7. I actually get up earlier than I need to, but I don’t like to be rushed in the morning.
Saturdays and Sundays, I’m usually up between 7 and 8. I don’t like to get my schedule too out of whack.
Sex is for weekends these days.
Sleepy. Tired. Working.
Life as a student was a lot more fun in some ways. Working for a living takes up a lot of time.
