What's your dream date?

Inspired by the fact I just spent the past hour consoling a friend after she broke up (with a total jerk, I may add): What would be your ideal date? The only restriction is it time: You have to be at work until, say, 4:30 on Friday, and then back on Monday morning.

Guys and gals both welcome to respond.

ooOo, back when I still had a job, mrAru and I liked to go out for romantic weekends=) and I think that I would like:

Mohegan Sun - get a room with hot tub and mini kitchen.

Check in and unpack, take nice relaxing shower followed with some massage and hot tubbing.
Friday dinner at the Tuscany Restaurant on site, they have the thin pretzel crispy breadsticks, with pepper olive oil and white bean dips. Follow with some nice entrees and a suitable wine, and meander over to the fast food area where they have a dessert bar and grab a nice selection of goodies to go back to the room. late night coffee and dessert, with a nice asbach uralt brandy [or carlos 1, robs favorite]

saturday morning breakfast - we both like cheese [brie and cream cheese, and the little balls of mozarella marinated], sausage [sweet sopresata], kalamata olives, small gherkins, radishes, celery, hard boiled eggs, flatbread [for under the cheeses] and fresh fruit [strawberries preferred] with coffee and orange juice. I have to go a bit more careful in my choices because of the diabetes and being atkins=)

During the day doing something pointless and touristy - drive to hartford and go to the museum, or do Mystic Seaport and the aquarium are always fun, or the drive to Newport and tour a mansion=)

nice relaxing massages and hot tubbing in the room before dinner=)

saturday dinner - big bubba’s bbq, huge servings of pretty good BBQ, they have BBQ lamb that is to die for. Ice tea to drink [neither of us likes beer] with more dessert and coffee back in the room, snuggle and watch a movie=)

sunday morning - do the breakfast buffet, pure schlock, but sort of fun. Clear our stuff out of the room and check out=)

If we can pick up a show there of an artist we like, all the better=) I have caught George Clinton there [my birthday a few years ago] and had a blast=)

sigh wonder if we could get Rammstein to play there, since it is a dream weekend<evil grin>

Umm… A date with a female.

That would be the best (read: only) date I’ve ever had.

Hmm…Maybe a concert (say, Carmina Burana?), followed by a light dinner. Maybe a fireworks show, watching the sun set, or watching an eclipse, afterwards. (Er…those aren’t metaphors, or anything.)

Though anything with a woman who I liked, and who liked me, would be good.

Marathon late afternoon mall shopping spree, punctuated mid-spree with coffee at Starbucks (small skim no whip mocha). Stores not to be missed during spree: Bath and Body Works, Coach, Arden B., Diva, Nordstrom, Yankee Candle.

After coffee break, more shopping, strolling, this time, as serious shopping has been done.

After mall, home, change clothes (preferably into something I bought that afternoon), and go to the opera. I really do like opera, so that’s a fun thing to do. After the opera, back out to the suburbs, and drinks at a bar across the street from us.

At 4:32 the cruise ship pulls up the gangplank and steams away from the office where the love of my life and I work, and yes, it’s an honest-to-God steamship. Friday’s dinner is formal, with things loosening up after that. The passengers (adults only) are fairly discreet most of the time and tolerant of one another far more often than that.

Our cabin is the size of a one bedroom apartment. When out and about, TLOML and I spend our time basking in the sun, hanging out at the disco, and browsing through a combination hardware and military surplus store, which they put onboard for some reason, right next to the casino.

Breakfast is served Monday morning as the ship returns to port, and, arm in arm, with tousled hair and tall glasses of coffee, we walk down the gangplank and back into the office.
(What, did ya’ want real life? Ok, sub out a nice hotel in the entertainment district for the ship.)
