  8. Christian Science (Church of Christ, Scientist) (68%)
  9. Taoism (67%)

You are all closet UU’s! Come out, come out, wherever you are!

One thing I find funny - you can be UU and be something else (Hindu, Christian, Pagan, etc.), so you could conceivably be both your #1 and #2 slots.

My top 5:

  1. Secular Humanism (100%)
  2. Unitarian Universalism (99%)
  3. Atheism and Agnosticism (85%)
  4. Liberal Quaker (85%)
  5. Liberal Protestant (82%)
interesting. I’ve never thought of being a Quaker. And number six is Theravadan Buddhism.

I identify as atheist, so it’s good that that’s in the list.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t UU’s pretty wacko about receiving medical attention? And where does it stop? They’ll go to the dentist, they’ll use a Band-Aids so they don’t bleed all over the keyboard but they won’t get an operation to remove a malignant tumor from their liver.

My friend’s mom was UU and wouldn’t have an operation that could potentially save her life and she died.

Hmm, my top five. I’d peg my beliefs as kind of a blend of a few of my top scoring faiths.

  1. Liberal Protestant (100%)
  2. Orthodox Quaker (82%)
  3. Liberal Quaker (78%)
  4. Conservative Protestant (77%)
  5. Unitarian Universalism (74%)

wishbone, UUs don’t have anything against modern medicine. Maybe you’re thinking of Christian Scientists?

Indeed, what little doctrine we UU’s have is flimsy enough - there are certainly no medical requirements involved. Aside from Christian Scientists, you might also be thinking of Jehovah’s Witnesses, who do not allow blood transfusions (IIRC).

We’re all just liberal ex-hippies.

Well, la dee da.

Results, and a question:

1.Secular Humanism (100%)
2.Unitarian Universalism (99%)
3.Liberal Quaker (84%)
4.Athesim and Agnosticism (78%)
5.Liberal Protestant (96%)

Under Unitarians it says, “Some congregations are formed for those who share a common belief, e.g. Christianity.” I sort of wondered why the other congregations were formed? I think of myself as an atheist, and I can’t really imagine getting together on a certain day every week with other atheists to talk about our lack of belief(s). I’ve had interesting conversations with atheists (with theists and agnostics, too), so I guess I’m just curious about what else Unitarians would discuss (for specific purpose in a church), if not theism?

100% Grade A Liberal Proddie.

(…Liberal!?)

My father would crap Coke bottles!

My top 5:

  1. Liberal Quaker (100%)
  2. Liberal Protestant (93%)
  3. Unitarian Universalism (92%)
  4. Bahá’í (83%)
    5. Reform Judaism (70%)

The idea of being a Quaker has never occurred to me.

And my last 5:
23. Latter-day Saint (Mormon) (35%)
24. Eastern Orthodox (35%)
25. Roman Catholic (35%)
26. Atheism and Agnosticism (30%)
27. Jehovah’s Witness (30%)

No arguments from me about #27, but #26 surprised me a bit.

  1. Liberal Quaker (100%)
  2. Unitarian (91%)
  3. Neo-Pagan (88%)

The rest fell off pretty fast from there.

I knew it!!!
Did I call it or did I call it?
I had these guys pegged. You could tell all along it was a setup. Here is the Newsweek exposé:

I need your help Dopers. Not too long ago I read a piece that was so funny and need to find it again. It was in the form of a customer satisfaction questionaire. It was how satisfied you are with your diety.
It asked questions like- How did you find your diety? A. Burning bush B. the voices told me C. in a cereal box
and many other funny questions.
Anybody know of this and where I can find it?

Thanks very much

  2. Liberal Quaker (95%)
  3. Unitarian Universalism (93%)
  4. Neo-Paganism (92%)
  5. New Age (88%)

OK, #2-5 I get. No surprise there. But #1 as Liberal Protestant? 100%? How odd. I took the test a second time (in case I made a mistake the first time) and came up with the same result. Go figure. I thought Protestants of any brand would at least believe in a personal God, which I don’t.

Anyone care to fight my ignorance on this?

I’m not EVEN posting my numbers! I scored LDS at #2 (gulp)
and they crack me up! I’m losing my grip right in front of you…

Oops, I was afraid that that would happen due to the weird lag, but used the opportunity anyway to indirectly thank Jomo for the link. Thanks, Jomo!
