What's Your Favorite Diet Soda?

7up plus

What, am I the only one that likes Diet Squirt?

Mmmm, that sounds delicious! Must look for that.

My favorite by far is Diet Coke - but ONLY the original. I love it with lime, but I squeeze my own because that lime-candy flavored stuff they use is nasty. And don’t even mention that kid’s cough syrup they use to flavor their cherry stuff.

If Coke is not on sale, I can handle diet Pepsi.

My non-colas, besides the aforementions Squirt, are A&W Cream Soda and to a lesser extent Root Beer, and any fruit-flavored diet fizzy drink.

I have one health condition that makes me thirsty all the time, another that requires I drink carbonated beverages for maximum comfort, and another that makes it best to avoid high-glycemic foods, so I feel I am the connoisseur of fizzy diet drinks!

That being said, Dr. Pepper is VILE. I will never figure out how anything sugar-free can be so coyingly sweet. And avoid store-brand colas at all costs.

Am I the only one who drinks Sprite Zero?

Diet Dr Pepper
Diet Dr Pepper
Diet Dr Pepper

and, when I can’t get it

Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr Pepper

No. I do. But Jones Diet Black Cherry is my favorite. And like most of my favorite things, no one seems to want to sell me any.

I stopped drinking caffiene so I drink A&W Root Beer and Cream Soda. Sucks when I can’t find it on sale at the gas station, but I stock up when I see it cheap.

I drink diet coke or pepsi when i’m at a restaurant tho.

Caffeine Free Diet Dr. Pepper.
I was in one of the focus groups when they reformulated the diet Dr. Pepper-did not like the “new” flavor, but I’ve gotten used to it.
I’ve discovered I even like it hot (desperate for a drink and left open can in a hot car)
20 oz Diet Dr. Pepper with caffeine- I won’t sleep that night.
allergic to citric acid, so can’t have alot of other sodas

my son found it at Target on Coit Rd. in Richardson, TX (suburb of Dallas)
(has citric acid in it so I can’t drink it)

I like Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr Pepper, Diet Mountain Dew, and Sprite Zero. I’m also a fan of Diet Mountain Dew Code Red (darn you, rjung, for mentioning it–now I want some badly) but I haven’t seen any in a while.

I have never liked diet colas. They always taste like…diet colas. If I’m going to drink coke I go for the sugared version (although I admit I haven’t tried the splenda version and splenda does seem to be pretty sucessful…I even made decent brownies with it.)

On the other hand diet ginger ale tastes like ginger ale. Good stuff.

Staple: Diet Coke

Occasional Treat: Diet Orange Slice

Problem: I can’t find Diet Orange Slice anywhere anymore. I could always get it at HEB but I haven’t seen it in several months. Everyone carries the horrendously greasy-tasting Diet Orange Sunkist; everyone has a generic diet orange soda.

THEY’RE NOT DIET ORANGE SLICE!

sobbing quietly

Diet Orange Slice should be on the backs of milk cartons. This is a serious tragedy.

Wow, it’s been so long since I’ve even seen an diet orange Slice, I had forgotten all about it. That used to be my #2, but they haven’t sold it around here in years.

Is Fresca considered a diet soda?

I love this stuff! I never knew it was supposed to be diet though.

I mean it doesn’t SAY diet on the can.

I’m pretty sure that they’ve started putting caffiene in Cream Soda. I was drinking it for a while, and then it started making my heart pound, and so I looked at the label and it had caffiene listed. This was some years back, though.

I enjoy IBC’s diet root beer. I can’t stand most diet sodas, but IBC brand is actually pretty good. Unfortunately, it’s also more expensive than most other brands.

Coke Zero and Diet Cheerwine.

Nope.

I don’t like fizzy drink as a rule but Sprite Zero is pretty good, well it’s my first choice.

Watch out! Diet A&W Cream Soda contains caffeine - at least I think I remember the can saying that. Anyway, read the cans carefully if you’re trying to avoid caffeine.

Well, it’s certainly not marketed as diet, but it’s got only a calorie or two, so I lump it in with all the other diet drinks. I happen to love it because it’s not too syrupy. It’s nice and light and actually refreshing, which is more than I can say for certain drinks.

I like Diet 7Up more than I like Diet Sprite for the same reason. The Diet Sprite tastes “heavier” to me.

Diet Bundaberg Ginger Beer.

Sprite ZERO is king in my house.

Diet Cherry Pepsi or Diet Cherry Coke

Diet A & W if I can find it.
