My first choice is Diet Coke.
My second choice is Caffeine Free Diet Coke.
These are my staples.
When I want something different, I like:
Diet Canada Dry Ginger Ale (which even a lot of people who hate diet can drink)
7UP Plus–the tropical one
And the store brand bottles of 32 oz clear sugar-free carbonated beverage. It seems every store has some of this stuff. I like wild cherry and key lime.
Oh! And Faygo Coconut Cream Pie.
Try Diet Rite Tangerine if you can find it. Or any of their other fruit-flavored sodas like Raspberry or White Grape. I think they also have Apple.
Speaking of apple sodas, I recently tried an Apple Gingerbread soda. It was great, considering it’s a store brand (Harris Teeter), but I don’t think it comes in diet.
I rarely drink soda, but when I do it’s Hansen’s Diet in whatever flavor I feel like, usually Black Cherry or Ginger Ale, maybe a Tangerine Lime once in a while.
It’s not really diet pop, but lately I’ve been drinking a lot of Wyler’s Light Green Tea with Peach. My God, it is addictive… all of the Wyler’s Light products are great. They’re better tasting, in my opinion than Crystal Light and cheaper as well. These are the best bet for people like me who really dislike the chemical aftertaste of Diet soda. They do have 5 calories per serving but they have absolutely no chemical taste…can’t tell they’re diet.
I like the ‘flavored sparkling beverage’ you can get at most grocery stores. Clear Choice is a brand in NYC, Shop Rite & Walmart have their own brands. The flavors are like Kiwi-Strawberry, White Grape (yummy yummy), Tropical Fruit, Peach Mango, Cranberry-whatever, those sorts of flavors. It’s not flavored seltzer water. It’s it’s own thing. Oddly I can’t find examples online. Some stores don’t even put it in the same place from one store to the next. If it’s not with the soda it’s probably with the water. No carbs, no sugar, no calories, no caffeine, no nothin’. But it tastes good!
