What's your favorite drink?

Kahlua and milk’s still my number one.

Not that that’ll stop me from stealing sips of your Crown and Coke, though.

I like a Red Snapper, a bloody mary with gin (Tanqueray is my choice) instead of vodka. A Tanqueray gimlet is another favorite of mine.

Cherry Cola, any brand.
I drink several every day.

Czech beer. My current favorite is Louny dark beer (very hard to find, even here, relatively close to the Czech Rep.) And yes, the name is the place in which it is brewed, although it does have a somewhat nutty taste.

Gin and tonic, slice of lemon, only one ice cube.

In order of preference.

And my home-made muscadine-strawberry wine is pretty tasty too.

What, you mean what kind of beer is my favorite drink?
Oh, I see. Well, the default brew is usually Sam Adams, although Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Anchor Steam are very nice as well. Many of the Boston area Brew Pubs have some excellent offerings, my all time favorite being the Tall Tale Pale Ale from the Cambridge Brewing Company.

Margaritas and Gin and Tonics have their place as well.

Best drink ever is one I found in Nassau, called the Goombay Smash. Coconut rum, light rum, dark rum, pineapple juice and orange juice, cherry for garnish. Lethal, but tasty.

Best beer is Anchor Steam Porter, if you like dark, rich beer. Michelob Black & Tan is a cheaper sub.

Best shot: caramel apple = apple pucker + buttershots (both by DeKuyper, I believe). Yum!

Hmmm. . .it depends on the situation:

Having a drink or two before dinner somewhere or at some social function: Seven and Seven.

Serious drinking: Bourbon on the rocks. Preferably Maker’s Mark but Jim Beam will do in a pinch.

Something light and froofy while hanging out: Vodka and tonic.

Beer: Yuengling Lager, Guinness, Killian’s Irish Red, Amstel Light (in that order).

Zappo

Ice to the top of the pint glass, Jack Daniels (appx. 1/3 of the way up) add Coke from a two-litre to taste.

If there is no Coke to be found, Bourbon is my favorite, preferably Woodforde Reserve.

For the daily grind it is beer. Anything will do, even Bud longnecks. I spent many years as a beer snob. But lately I have come to appreciate the right beer for the right moment. Hot and outdoors lends itself to Coors. Cold and indoors seems to be a Weinhard’s Red vibe. When I get to a good store, I am suddenly a big fan of the Germans and Belgians (be wary of Piraats).

In a party where straight bourbon is not a good choice, I prefer milkshakes, white russians made with crushed cubes, ketel one, kahlua and milk or cream in roughly eaqual proportions. I have done this before, I am aprofessional.

Right now it’s Cognac and soda in a tumbler with ice. Very nice.

My favorite drink is Long Island Iced Tea, although I normally don’t drink those on my nights out because they make it much too easy to become plastered! Otherwise, I would say that Orange Whips (rum and orange juice with a bit of Sprite/7Up for texture) are a favorite as well.

As for straight alcohol, a good scotch, bourbon or Canadian whisk(e)y is fine by me :).

Mostly though, I drink beer…wouldn’t say I have a particular favorite…anything so long as it’s beer! (ie, no mass-produced crap and ABSOLUTELY no light “beer”!)

Spanish Peaks hard apple cider. Mmmmm…tasty.

Zappo, you must be from PA or somewhere abouts. I swear by Yeungling Lager. It’s always a shame that I can’t get it when I travel.

Will you marry me?

Oh, right–drinks.

Newcastle Brown Ale. Accept no substitutes. Except possibly Samuel Smith’s Nut Brown Ale or Montana Brown Ale from the Whitefish Brewing Company (gotta come to Montana for that, but I promise it’s worth it).

For harder stuff, Margaritas are good, as are Seabreezes (provided the grapefruit juice is pink and fresh ;)).

For shots, I’ve always been partial to B-53’s and M&M’s (also known as Alien Secretions).

[Homer quote] ummmmm, swwweeeeeet beer! [Homer quote off]

I have to vote for straight Anchor Steam as my favorite, and respectfully submit that in a blind taste test Sierra Nevada Porter edges out the Anchor Steam Porter.

Well, if it makes you feel any better, Yuengling is working towards widespread national distribution (someone I talked to predicted it would be as popular as the 3 national crap beers within 5-10 years).

Most people who try Yuengling seem to like it very much; a team from Buffalo came down to our Mad Anthony’s Ale (a very good beer as well…Erie Brewing certainly made wonderfully robust beers!) tournament, and I had bought some Yuengling for the day on the sidelines. As a good host, I gave them a couple and it met with their approval (which among rugby players is a mark of gold!).

As much as we’d like to keep it to ourselves locally, Yuengling is coming to America…crap beer better run and hide

Cold water with ice.

We’ve got it on Smith Street in Brooklyn, on tap no less. I just had a pint of it the other night in Uncle Pho’s. Good schtuff.

Nononononononononononnononononononnonononononoonononooooo!

What do you mean it’s going national? That means less for us and it’s one of the things that makes living in Harrisburg palatable!

::grabbing keys to station wagon and running for the beer store to lay in a supply::

But seriously, Yuengling going national is a good thing.

<dons pink turban with a big feather in the front>

I predict that within three years of Yuengling Lager getting national distribution people will be saying “Bud-who-ser?”

Yes, it’s that good.
