What's your favorite ice cream flavor?

I live walking distance from a place that makes its own frozen custard. The best flavours are pistachio and creamsicle.

Breyer’s Lite French Chocolate.

Okay, the texture is either really good or it can be pretty bad, but imagine:

Fudgesicle covered in chocolate shell–smooshed up and put into a bowl.

I need to get more lactaid today. I’ve been craving this ice cream for weeks, and this thread is about to push me over the edge.

I have a wonderful little ice cream maker wherein all I have to do is put the tasty ingredients in the freezer bowl, turn it on, & wait 30 minutes & I have homemade ice cream!! (I have gained 10 pounds since acquiring this gadget, no joke!!) My favorites so far have been cinnamon (wonnnnnnnderful with apple pie) & coffee. I also fondly recall an experiment with lemon sorbet.

In terms of readymade ice cream, it’s gotta be coffee. Or cappucino, or maybe even mocha. I don’t like ice cream with stuff you have to chew (nuts, fruit, chunks o’ chocolate, etc.) in it.

It’s got to be either Pralines N Cream or Homemade Vanilla with Nesquik sprinkled on it. Either way, it’s got to be Blue Bell ice cream. Mostly, I just try to avoid even THINKING about ice cream. Ice milk isn’t the same, and as for “diet” or “lite” ice creams…yech!

I’ve never heard of this kind. Is it a flavor or a brand name? If it’s a flavor, what’s in it?

And now I want ice cream. Whose stupid idea was this ice cream thread, anyway?!

Texas Gold or Breyers Homemade Chocolate / Chocolate Chip (they’re actually Chocolate Chunk).

Also, any good Chocolate / Almond, Mint, Plain Chocolate, French Vanilla, Cookies and Cream or Cookie Dough will serve me well.

Most of the time I buy Mooney’s Chocolate and handmake ultra-thick milkshakes instead.

Haagen Daaz does a lemon sorbet-vanilla ice cream swirl thing that is divine. I like citrusy things the way most people like chocolate.

Haagen Daaz Rum Raisin
Breyers Strawberry
Cherry Cheesecake, pretty much any brand.

even tho i don’t drink coffee

Cookies and Cream (preferably with sprinkles on top)
and
Godiva Hazelnut Praline (good stuff, but not exactly cheap :()

It’s a flavour that is only found in New Zealand, but there’s probably variations on it in other countries now with a different name.

You know what hokey pokey actually is? It’s a kind of candy crunchy butterscotch thing. Little pieces of that are scattered through french vanilla ice cream - end result, Hokey Pokey Ice Cream.

Most people who visit NZ and try it absolutely adore it.

I’m with Crunchy Frog - Butter Pecan, preferably from Haagen Daaz. If unavailable, I’ll take Pralines and Cream.

Yes, I agree with the anything by Friendly’s. I loved the Reeses Pieces Sundae. It’s hard to explain Nirvana to someone who has never experienced it. The closest one to here is in Cincinnati, OH. My hubby has never had any. sigh

My Baskin Robbins favorites are Peanut Butter and Chocolate and Rocky Road. I was once actually trying all 31 flavors, and one day I brought back a orange sherbet to my grandma, and a Grape Ice, Daquiri Ice and Rocky Road cone for me. My grandma said it was the most disgusting cone she had ever seen.

My Ben and Jerry’s favorite is one of the new 2Twisted flavors: Everything But The… It is awesome!

Bryer’s Strawberry. Heck, my main flavor is strawberry. Any brand will do.

Occasionally, however, I do stoop to other flavors. Pineapple Ice Cream. Apple Pie Ice Cream. Maybe Cookies and Cream if I’m desperate. But otherwise it’s strawberry.

Blue Bell banana split. It’s the reason I’m moving back to Texas!

It’s vanilla ice cream with strawberry, fudge and pineapple ribbons with chunks of banana and cherries. Yum!

Hokey Pokey sounds very much like “Butter Crunch” to me. Of course, let me reiterate that Friendly’s makes a great version of that flavor.

If we’re going to expand this into ice cream specialties like cakes and pies and such…
The Jubilee Roll–van, choc, nuts, and toppings, sold only during the Christmas season.
The Wattamelon roll–Watermelon sherbet with lemon sherbet “rind” and chocolate chip “seeds.” Yum.
The Black Forest Cake–The most delicious concoction of chocolate ice cream and cherries and cake ever created. This stuff is so freaking delicious I can’t even describe it.

No, I’m not being given payment by the Friendly’s Corporation to keep plugging their products :), even though all of the above are made by them.

Since I’m a vegetarian, I’ve never had Crunchy Frog Ice Cream. How is it?

Blue Bell Chocolate Almond Marshmallow is the absolute best. Chocolate ice cream, with chocoloate-covered salted almonds, and marshmallow cream swirled through it. Mmm-mmm-mmm. Second would be B&J Cherry Garcia.

Without a doubt - Ben & Jerry’s “Everythign But The…”

It’s vanilla ice cream with bits of Heath Bar, Peanut Butter Cups, chocolate covered peanuts, Butterfingers chunks and big peices of white chocolate.

OH… MY… GOD!!!

It’s ice cream with no flavor. Vanilla ice cream without the vanilla, if you prefer. Maxmillion’s in Providence (the one on Hope Street, not Thayer Street) used to make it, and sweet jaysus, it was good.

The ginger ice cream from Grey’s in Tiverton, RI is mind-bending.

And the hazelnut ice cream at Bertillon (in Paris)… words can not describe.
