What's your favorite sausage?

Venison sausage is a mazing. I also like Chorizo on top of a baked potato with cheese and sour cream.

Traditional Italian with pepper, chili and fennel. Spanish chorizo and the one’s you only get in the West country in England - pork , apple and scrumpy. haven’t had one for 30 years.

I guess I’m not all that sophisticated. I love Jimmy Dean hot pork sausage more than any other kind in the world.

And the winner of the Most Suggestive Food Name in this thread goes to…

Hot Italian sausage
Chorizo
Andouille
Polish
Caribou

In that order.

I love all manner of sausage, but my favorites are hot Italian, andouille and chorizo. I’ve only ever made Italian and breakfast sausage though.

I may have to pull out the ole meat grinder this weekend.

Gouveia Portuguese pork sausage(linguica).

The best Hawaiian style.

My family waits for relatives to come and deliver Lebanon bologna from the old country (Eastern PA). OMG that stuff is good. And I think it counts as sausage.

chaurice, andouille, and Oregon’s own Verboort.

Mennonite Farmer’s Sausage. Although we just refer to it as farmer’s sausage. I have never seen it for sale at any supermarket. You get it by ordering it from a farmer or butcher who knows how to make it.

I also do not know of any other sausage that it similar to it. It is made from pork, spices and usually garlic and is smoked. It has a predominately pink color, so it is easy to beleive that it beef. It has a great texture and taste that has notes of bacon, sweetness and is not fatty. I have eaten it all my life and never got tired of it. It is great on a BBQ.

I spent a few years in Germany as a very young boy, and Braunschweiger today tastes like childhood. Love it.

On a similar theme, a good Bratwurst always makes me smile.

Best thread ever.

I can’t believe that mere mortals have anything to do with Italian Salumi. Any cured sausage or meat of that variety will last no longer than 45 minutes in my home.

I had a lamb and garlic sausage once that almost caused me to faint with delight… The only thing that saved me was the certain knowledge that while I was unconscious my SO would eat the rest of my sausage!

Any sausage made by Molinari and Sons. Especially the calabrese and the Italian dry salami.

For Italian sausage, pretty much anything made by Armandino Batali (Mario’s dad).

Claricaun, don’t feel bad - I’m not sophisticated either.

Good old Hillshire Farm Beef Smoked Sausage is mine.

For breakfast, it’s Jones.

If I had to pick an absolute favorite I’d probably go with linguica.

But I love so many.

Top of the list:

Hot Italian
Chorizo
Andouille
Morcilla
And it might be a stretch, but I’ll add Pork Roll to the list too. (With egg and cheese on an everything bagel, please.)

I’d like to try that, but there aren’t any spicy elk where I live.

I’m originally from Milwaukee. So every summer was full of cookouts and grilling of Usingers, Klements, and Johnsonville brats, italians, and polish.

Hot Italian sausage for me. The sweet variety I sometimes see I’m not a fan of. I likes my spice!
