What's your favorite YouTube clip right now?

I just found this one. It doesn’t look like it has been mentioned yet.

box in a box

the woman’s answer to “dick in a box”

Oh God, that almost killed me!

“They’re digging a hole.”

The thing that makes it really work is that there really used to be documentaries in exactly that style on the BBC a decade or two ago. Similarly Look Around You (produced by the same folks as Birds Of Britain) is an astonishingly close parody of genuine educational programmes that the BBC used to broadcast - the first time I saw it, it was a couple of minutes before I was really sure it wasn’t for real.

Great Scott, I think “Box in a Box” was partially shot on the Phila. Art Museum steps.

Even though I’m not British, I can tell just the sort of humor they’re going for. It does seem like an actual documentary, until you get to the parts about starlings emigrating from Starlingrad and “worker ducks” digging holes in the water. I find subtle humor like that very funny.

I think you may be right, seeing as in one scene one of the girls puts her arms in the air Rocky-style atop the steps.

I just watched Yellow Submarine.

Ah! Good this got bumped, the latest favorite of mine is this recent British(?) air show put to the tune of Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines.

(4 seconds of black screen at the beginning, but then the images appear)

Amazing acrobatics, and you get to see a WW2 plane flying next to a jet fighter that is keeping the pace.

(Any British dopers can identify the air show, the guy laughing at the end and the flag?)

Beautiful. Inspirational. Thank you for posting that.

The Avalanches - Since I Left You

The ending gets to me every time.

Ernest & Bertram (some strong language)

This film, a good response to the “Bert and Ernie are gay” rumors, was pulled from circulation after the producers of Sesame Street threatened legal action. No, those two Muppets aren’t gay…but what if, as the rubber-ducky loving orange guy puts it, that was the one lie that had an ounce of truth in it? The ending manages to be both horrific and hilarious at the same time.

The Osmonds!

That’s messed up!

Pete Townshend remixing Tommy

i don’t know anything about guitars to know exactly how good he is, but my sentiments exactly.
