Once in a while, I might listen to a BlowFly song.
Red Winged Blackbird - Dr. Hook
[checks the forum title - nope, not the pit] Well, I guess someone’s got to like it.
I kid, I kid.
Interesting story, many moons ago I used to live in Taos - at the same time that Michael Martin Murphey did. Every morning when I dropped off my GF’s kid at grade school, I’d see MMM dropping off his. Everyone else was in pajamas and slippers (hey, it’s Taos!) and he would be totally decked out - fringed leather jacket, cowboy hat with feather hatband and dripping in silver and turquoise jewelry.
Good morning, rock star, ha ha.
One Girl Revolution
Serious Cheese, but a decent groove.
Too embarrassed to link.
Lulu’s To Sir With Love.
I like pina coladas and getting caught in the rain.
Also, I’d do Anything for Love and understand the lyrics so I know what he won’t do. Actually, any of the over top Jim Steinman songs - the long versions.
99 Red Balloons. Mrs Lurki threatens divorce when I play it.
English or German version?
English. The German version just reminds me of my undergrad inadequacies.
Margaritaville by Jimmy Buffett.
Yes! That’s another of mine.
Well, what IS it he won’t do? Come to think of it, Daryl Hall ‘can’t go for that’. What is it he ‘no can do’?
For the fans, an earlier thread that might be of interest: What is the song "Wildfire" about?
Hey, me too! “What a goooood wife you would be…”
‘But my life, my lover, my lady, is the sea.’
Brandy (You’re A Fine Girl) is one of my top ten favorite songs ever.
I guess After the Lovin’ and Love’s Theme. Kinda schmaltzy maybe, but great orchestration.
No Rain … Especially the video.
Sometimes I will dance like the girl in the bee costume.
Volverás, by Ricky Martin
(Actually, it’s a really well constructed and produced song - and Ricky shared a composing credit. I could picture pop/rock musical analyst Rick Beato taking it seriously.)
Sometimes One gets in a Certain Mood and needs to unbundle Certain Thoughts.
I Hate Everyone by Get Set Go. NSFW lyrics.
