What's your Ken Jennings number?

Like many of you guys, RickQ and I have been watching the Jeopardy juggernaut. The other day I was surprised that both of us actually got one or two right that Ken missed. Now mind you, he got lots right that we missed, but that’s beside the point. :slight_smile:

Anyway, we decided to figure out our Ken Jennings Number (KJN) which is the number of answers one gets right that Ken either gets wrong or doesn’t ring in on. It doesn’t count if someone else beats him to the buzzer and gets it right before he can ring in. I think we can all agree he probably would have gotten those right. Only the ones he misses or stands there until time runs out count. 'Kay?

Tonight my KJN was a respectable 2, but RickQ’s was a very impressive 4. I don’t think Ken missed more than 6 or so.

So, Jeopardy fans, what’s your KJN?

My KJN tonight (July 1st) was 6, all gained during the first round. I’ve not been following the whole Ken Jennings run — does he usually take a while to warm up? He was actually in the red at an early point tonight.

If anyone’s interested, the ones that I got that KJ missed were:

Passover
Pop Idol
Rosuto
Neoprene
Dorsal Fin
Siamese Fighting Fish

I was sure about all of the above except Rosuto (which I made an educated guess to be Japanese, but might not have risked buzzing in. Still, I said it out loud while KJ said “Italian”

Once Double Jeopardy came around, he was a buzzsaw. I think he may have missed one or two, but I didn’t write them down since I missed them too.

I counted 7 misses in the first round (the six that I’ve mentioned above plus

Then maybe 2, or three at the most, in Double Jeopardy.

For some strange reason, I almost always get the ones he misses. Especially in FJ.

I didn’t count the KJN possibles, but I remember all the ones you listed, so I am sure you are right, Antonious Block. Excellent number you have there!

Last night, I got passover and neoprene.

I forgot to count the ones in which nobody responded (were there any?). But of the 9 times he answered incorrectly, I got 6 right. I missed the football, the Reagan, and the fencing clues.

And shame on him for confusing Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff. I got that one even before the music started.

Well, since I started this dang thread, my KJN has gone down. I only got a miserable, embarassing one tonight (Tchaikovsky). RickQ got 3 again (reposte, Tchaikovsky, and Jupiter).

Ken definitely struggled tonight. Missing that Daily Double really hurt.

I got 6 tonight, including the Final Jeopardy!, plus one that I originally missed but then “questioned” correctly before Ken gave an incorrect response.

This was a notable miss - it was the ONLY question I remember Ken answer confidently, only to have his answer be incorrect.

Usually for the ones he misses, he gives that eyes-narrowed “question-answer” - “What is…spam?”

Or, since it’s Jeopardy! we’re talking about, I guess that would be a “question-question.” Or something.

By my count, Ken missed 11 tonight (4 in Jeopardy, 6 in Double Jeopardy, and Final Jeopardy).
