What's your LEAST favorite album cover?

It’s been discussed elsewhere, but the Blind Faith album cover is pretty bad. And not just because its a topless 12 year old. That girl is just plain fugly.

Well, just as long as you weren’t gonna go down the I’m In You road.

:stuck_out_tongue: pardon the earworm*

*actually - really - you know where it’s going - you’ll really still go there?

Tarkus.
An album of terrific music, desecrated by a cover that looks to have been conceived and executed by a six-year old.

With an even more amateur “comic book” spread when you open it up. Their “Manticore” looks like a middle schooler was drawing monkeys in his notebook…

You’d have to admit that it looks like the Mona Lisa compared to the rush/hachet job Reprise did with ‘Kinks Size’ tho

Beatles for Sale. They look like a bunch of very tired early 20 somethings, worn ragged with constant touring, recording, and long nights.

Sure, goofytown, but I’d take more issue with Trilogy, which looks like it’d be perfectly at home on the side of a van that has one of those round, dark, little windows, along with an air-brushed wolf at sunset.

The Scorpions have a tradition of horrible covers. I’ll leave out the massively NSFW “Virgin Killers” for obvious reasons.
The only thing worse than the “Animal Magnetism” cover is the back cover.
And totally safe for work but not for any sense of taste, the “Fly to the Rainbow” cover!

And the artists’s level of expertise looks to be “advanced beginner.” It’s cringeworthy terrible, but IMO Tarkus still takes the boobyprize. And yet musically the instrumental virtuosity on both records is extraordinary. Further yet, Emerson and Palmer pushed their skills to even high levels on their next studio album (Brain Salad Surgery, my favorite non–classical album for 44 years), and finally graced it with one of the very finest covers ever.

I love your airbrushed van characterization. It’s perfect.
