Her procedure was what the White House said it was, but there was some sort of complication (MRSA would be my guess) that required an extended stay and some lengthy outpatient care. Loser Donald is keeping her out of sight because in his mind, illness equals weakness, and if his wife is seen as weak, then it means he’s weak too, and he can’t stand that kind of threat to his ego.
With Trump it’s always ‘opposite day’ so I’m thinking since he wrote the tweet from Melania that it means she’s not okay. She’s either gravely ill or has decided to break up with him and they’re trying to come up with a face-saving way to break it to the world. Perhaps the reality of the Stormy Daniels story finally got to her. She may be sedated somewhere in the WH and unable to reach out to anyone. Has anyone seen Baron lately? He’s usually close to his mother’s side. Could they sneak her out of DC without anyone noticing? If they could then she is in NYC with Baron plotting her exit…
My first guest is that between the “Be Best” fiasco and whatever health problems she had, she’s just laying low. A CNBC reporter saw her at the White House on Tuesday, so I don’t think she’s actually disappeared.
That said, there were rumors that she’d moved into a hotel in January, right around the time that she took her own limo to the State of the Union.
The Prez can’t order the Secret Service not to do their jobs, as I understand it.
I’m on team “she’s just jack of the whole circus” maybe with a side order of “having trouble keeping up her game face in public”. Clearly looking elegant and in control is important to her - imagine how she’d hate it if she suddenly burst into tears in front of a camera because of how shitty her life is now. This fits with her looking fine to the random reporter, but not wanting to come out for official events where she can’t get away. Also - much harder to keep a lid on things generally when you’ve been sick
My guess is it’s almost time for him to trade her in for a younger model, but that’s problematic now that he’s president. So instead he’s having her tuned up, plastic surgery wise. Nip and tuck style!
I didn’t support the conspiracy theories … until it was pointed out that her “I’m OK” tweet was written in Donald’s diction, not Melania’s.
Anyway, I fail to understand the sympathy for her. $1000-a-trick girls aren’t expected to like the customer, and will undergo beatings for double-price as long as it doesn’t leave visible bruising. Melania will get a big payday if she can hang around till he kicks the bucket. (Does the Secret Service regard this FLOTUS as a major threat to this POTUS’s life?)

Quite possibly, yes. Millions of women who live in everyday anonymity might look at the fame, the attention, the wealth, being aboard Air Force One, the Secret Service protection, the service/staff/butlers/chauffers, the White House or Trump Tower or Mar-a-Lago being your rotating homes, the food, the influence, the power, the status, and think, “Yes I’d like that.”
I know first hand how sick people get from a serious kidney infection. It can be overwhelming.
It’s even worse if the kidneys aren’t functioning correctly. Toxins build up.
I’m not surprised Melania has been out of the public spotlight.
I don’t know if pity is the right word, but I can’t see life being all that pleasant being married to man whose scandalous philandering has made the farce that is their relationship undeniable at this point. Sure, she isn’t worried about where her next $1000 pair of shoes are coming from, but shame is a helluva thing to have to live with. Anyone who would want to trade places has to be pretty shallow, because they actually would think material possessions and fame can take the place of dignity, love, and respect.
If there’s a First Lady to envy, it would be Michelle. Melania knows this too. Not only is MO considered smart and accomplished in her own right, but no one questions Obama’s love and fidelity towards her. That is something Melania will never have.
My vote is that MT has thrown up the deuces and said “boy, bye” to Trump and his shenanigans.
The recovering idea is fine. Hiwever, if she weren’t mad at Trump, I think she could have managed a “I’m still recovering” tweet for him, rather than him having his Twitter people do it.

I think kidney stones fits. I’ve had 'em, and the pain can be stunning. She may have gotten special treatment to stay in the hospital with IV pain relief until the stone passed. If so, and if there is more yet to pass, she is probably still taking narcotics. She may well have asked him to get out of town while she titres off of them, as the withdrawal is also pretty miserable.
Given the hellish turn her life has taken,one can see how she might be tempted to over indulge. And they’ve lost their “friendly” in-house doctor.
I gotta say, this particular subplot to the White House TV show is intriguing. I hope the writers know what they’re doing. If she shows up next episode like nothing happened, I’ll be pissed!
