What's Your Theme Song?

What’s the song that best represents your “meaning of life”? I discovered mine last year - Time Out of Mind by Steely Dan. I found the metaphor of chasing the dragon to match up perfectly with my deeply held belief that you should get every drop of life out of your time on Earth. That, and the super funky beats are prefect for my unique dancing style…

How 'bout you?

Secret Agent Man

Losfer Words (Big 'Orra)

Theme song, entrance music, whatever. :stuck_out_tongue:

When I was young, it was Won’t get fooled again.

Now it’s Lucky man

101 Bottles of Beer (on the wall)

I have several.

My wife would tell you its “Staying Alive” but only because I used to sing it when we first dated as a way of showing off…“well, you can tell by the way I use my walk. i’m a woman’s man, no time to talk”…she also thinks “Princes of the Universe” refers to me because I was a big highlander fan and we go to every ren faire we can afford too. she just likes seeing me with a sword I guess…

My oldest friend would tell you its Peter Gabriel’s Solsbury Hill because of a past we both have in common.

But if I had to just pick one, I’d say its tubthumping. Not that its a fantastic sonmg, but the lyrics “I get knocked down, but i get up again, you ain’t never gonna keep me down” seem to be a recurring theme for me.

Cold Beverages

I think of it not as a theme song, but more of an anthem: “Vienna” by Billy Joel.

“I Fought the Law” - the Clash version.

“The Lonely Bull”, by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass.

“Fell On Black Days” by Soundgarden

Just heard it in the truck tonight, for the first time in ages. Cranked it up!

Pure and Easy

We Live in Brooklyn and Everybody Loves the Sunshine by Roy Ayers

Over the years, it’s alway been one Warren Zevon song or another.

Lawyers, Guns, & Money (trite, I know) was a fun time.

Jeannie Needs a Shooter was not.

These days, it The Mutineer.

I’ve never listened to the final album …

Double Barrel by Dave and Ansel Collins.

Talking Heads, Lifetime Piling Up.

I guess I’d have to go with You Have Cum In Your Hair And Your Dick Is Hanging Out.

Or else Eye of the Tiger.

Fido, Your Leash is Too Long

Uriah Heep’s Lady in Black, of course.

I’d guess i’d have to go for Pink Floyd’s classic “Comfortably Numb”.

And NO, I don’t pick this song because I’ve been on drugs or the such, but more because of the positive perspective this song can give you.

Sad lyrics that can show what can happen if you become too self-absorbed and waste chances in life.
