I did a vanity search on my username today. I have apparently contributed to 160 threads on this board, of which I have been the last poster on 10 of those threads.
I’m almost disappointed. I’d have thought it would be much higher.
What might be even more interesting is to figure out how the averages for newbies compare to those of members who’ve been posting for a few years. I would think newbies tend to kill a lot more threads than the seasoned veterans do.
It’s much tougher, and more subjective, to try to figure out your Ignored Posts (IP) percentage. These occur when you post to a thread, and the discussion continues for many more posts, but none of the points you’ve raised is addressed by subsequent posters, none of your more inflamatory remarks gets a rise out of anyone, and none of your humorous remarks generates even a derisive comment from any other poster.
this was kind of fun to check out, because it gave me a chance to notice all the different topics I’ve contributed to over the past 13 months. Kind of sobering to recognize the extent of my prurient interests.
That’s far lower than I would have expected. I think my IP% would be far far higher.
I went back and reread some of my earlier posts and apparently I have some clarifying. No, I’m not married, I just called a long-term g/f my wife (and she called me her husband). I didn’t realise it, but apparently her title changed from wife to fiance in a number of posts. Now, she’s an ex(and a friend). She’d probably get a kick out of this.
I also realised if something angers me, breath deeply BEFORE I post. I flew off the handle a few times at some relatively minor things. I learned a lot about myself. Reading my posts from a third persons persective paints a rather strange picture of myself.
