If there’s a breaking, major, news event going on and you want info on it NOW, what website do you turn to? I’m still using CNN.
Actually, the SDMB. I find that all y’all are pretty reliable and quick aggregators of breaking news.

I’ve generally got a tab open to Google News app. It’s pretty timely with breaking news.
CNN - up-to-the minute updates, but not always reliable. I use it out of habit mostly. I mostly read headlines and brief articles only on this.
NYTimes - much slower to update, but much better with fact-checking and confirming stuff. I read this for content.
SDMB - for real-time discussion and links to good content on other sites
Generally I just do a Google search on whatever descriptive term is applicable, and choose the most promising site from the results.
As for a specific site that I most often look to for information, this is it.

Here or - I’m shameless enough to admit - Buzzfeed.
For instance, I was done with the SDMB for a bit so I switched to Buzzfeed, where I just learned the verdict in the Jordan Davis trial (“47-year-old Michael Dunn will be sentenced to life in prison for the November 2012 fatal shooting of 17-year-old Jordan Davis.”)

Honestly Twitter. I follow several news people/sites.
Pretty much my choice also. For analysis or in-depth reporting, there are MUCH better choices, but for “HOLY SHIT SOMETHING JUST BLEW UP” kind of stories CNN does a fine job.
NPR. Subscribe to Headlines of the day. Then they send breaking news also.
Like what was said up thread, SDMB has the breaking news first!
The two apps I have that give me breaking news push notifications are CNN and Fox. After that if I want to look further there is the whole rest of the internet.
The BBC.
Foxnews.com is my regular source. If the story is something political or controversial, I might check CNN to get a different viewpoint, but for regular news I’d never bother with CNN.
I mostly discuss news on the SDMB.
