I actually kind of like the fact that it’s been too cold to rain here, because it can be hard for me to get to sleep with the sound of the rain. Actually, if it were a bit warmer, it might be easier for me to get to sleep…
Hell, I just wish it was easy for me to get to sleep, period.
Well, I did the cawfee shop trial today, and… drumroll for needless drama…
I got offered a full-time job! Yay!
The only problem is they want me to start on the same time as the zoo AGM, this Saturday afternoon. Hopefully they’re flexible on that, we just spend the last week trying to find a time everyone was free for the AGM, and I don’t wanna miss it.
I think I shall spend my first weeks wages on hiring a barbershop quartet to stand outside my soon-to-be-ex boss’s house and sing a list of precisely what I would like him to shove where.
‘Tis pourin’ rain. This makes da bear sleepy. Thus we shall now go lie upon the bed and watch teevee until sleepy time. I lurve the sound of rain on the roof. A much better sleep aid than Mel.
Congrats, Nut!! Here’s hoping your life can become a bit more normal than it has been.
We may or may not get our butts kicked with snow overnight. My appointment with the dermatologist is at 2 tomorrow - I’m pretty sure I’ll make it just fine.
Keep it anatomically correct. Once, in a fit of rage, I suggested someone shove something up an orifice they didn’t have. OK – I was a little drunk in addition to being angry. But its a rookie mistake to be avoided.
A cake in the hand is worth two in the bush.
No, wait.
You cannot have your bird and eat it, too.
No, that ain’t it.
You have made your cake, and you must lie in it.
Been a while since I made a quiche: spinach, bacon and potato (no cheese). Yum. Was hoping for a snow day and thus, a nap in a pot roast scented apartment but alas, while we received some pretty snowfall, it did not stick and they did not close schools & businesses. So I have pot roast simmering away now, late in the evening where it will just barely be ready before bed time. So I guess it’s tomorrow’s dinner…
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 42 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 55 for the day and no rain. Well, maybe no rain. More likely sun than rain, but rain might happen. The forecast really is that willy-nilly.
doggio I think Etlanner and the north part of Jawja shut down for today. Or not. Again, the weather PTB ain’t bein’ real clear on stuff. I’m proud to say the “No Snow” signs did their job nicely here.
shoe your quickie looks good!
flytrap a cake in the hand is messy. It’s best to use a plate. I think that’s what you were goin’ for.
Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy is hongry. I have cereal, milk, ‘nanners, and bagels on hand. I think that will feed OYKW and me and make tummies happy. Then, alas and alack, purtification for irk must commence. I let OYKW go purtify first bein’ as he needs to be at irk before I do, poor thing.
There’s about an inch of fresh white evil on the ground and it’s still falling. I doubt we’ll get another 2" out of it before it stops - or maybe that’s wishful thinking. Unfortunately, I have to venture out today - my appointment with the dermatologist/surgeon is at 2 and I plan to allow an hour, even tho it’s barely 30 minutes away. The main roads will surely be clear by then, and if it stops soon enough, I’ll be out clearing the driveway.
Meanwhile, may I just say: WINTER SUCKS!!!
The banana sour cream bread and muffins are most yum! At least the muffies are - the 2 loaves of bread are in the freezer for future yum. If I make this again, I’ll reduce the sugar a bit, possibly by 1/3. I was hoping for a bit more of a tang from the sour cream. Still, YUM!
Apart from having my head examined later (HAH!!) I’ve got to empty the dishwasher and clean the George Foreman again. I used it to make our chickie strips last night - it worked out quite well! If I get home at a reasonable hour tonight, I’ll make N.O.T. soup like I meant to yesterday. If not, who knows?? I could make a quiche, too! Life’s a crap shoot sometimes!
Congra-rats on the job, Nuts! Should I ever have cause to pass through that airport, I will make sure to stop off for a coffee
Weather’s grey and grim today, not necessarily cold but it’s damp and miserable out there. Thus I will be spending the day in my nice warm, dry office with a constant supply of tea, attempting to avoid as much of Teh Stoopid as possible.
