When are mainstream studios going to stop releasing movies on VHS tape?

Is there a schedule as to when this is going to happen? 2 years? 10?

I have noticed some video rental stores in my area (since they have finite footage) has been shrinking the VHS section and enlarging the DVD section.

I’m curious if there is a master-plan at work by the big studios on this.

The master plan is, when you stop buyin’ ‘em, they’ll stop makin’ 'em. I’m sure they have a tentative timeline, but we’re still a couple years off from the day when new movies won’t be released on VHS. Thus, they’ll probably check their market research and slowly decrease their shipments.
