When Come Back Bring PII A Mobile MMP

Our exciting plans include a run to the dump for amnesty day - the previous owners left cans of old gasoline and some other weird liquids that we can now get rid of for free.

We hope to get the kitchen and nook floor installed.

And on Sunday, we have to move the boat to where the bow pulpit will be replaced. So yeah, special plans…

Hmm, those plans are still better than mine. On Saturday, I have to attend a service for an aunt-in-law that passed away.

Sorry for your loss :frowning:

*Another *day like this? :frowning: {{{Ivory}}}

Actually, all modern (i.e., basically anything from the 21st century) CDMA phones have a USB connector cable that will let you back up to your computer, too. Many of them have OTA (Over The Air) interfaces to allow you to save your phone book on the provider’s servers, too (of course, you have to decide if it’s worth the privacy issues!)

Furnace guy is here - I think he’s the same guy who was here last year. I was going to try to organize my studio while he was working there, but I just didn’t feel like it. I did load the dishwasher, tho, so there’s that.

Yeah, {{Taters}}, looks like even my ick weekend is better than yours.

**FCD **just informed me that his folks are driving up here for Thanksgiving after all. So they get to experience the insanity that is turkey day at my mom’s house… I really should start cleaning before they get here.

Thanks for the hugs, but it wasn’t unexpected. She had been doing very poorly for quite some time. We weren’t all that close, but she was my MiL’s last remaining sibling.

We’re going mainly to support my MiL.

Yes, sorry Taters

Oh… I hope I don’t sound so negative all the time! Just going through a patch right now… and this is a pretty safe place to vent.

You know we’re always here with a cyber ear or cyber shoulders. The support here is phenomenal.

 It’s true. I’m just not used to accepting support without feeling like I’m doing something wrong. My job was being the “happy” one in the family growing up…

Man, do I know that feeling…except in my case, I was always the “strong” one. I was the go to person, and still am. I don’t know why.

Huh. Learn something new every day. You can store numbers on those little doohingles? I just let the Mac and phone sync up via Bluetooth whenever I make changes.

Actually, what I really need is a new battery. My phone’s nearly four years old, and the battery’s down to about a day and a half of standby.

Howdy Y’all! I survived another day of learning how to explain phone bills. Those training modules are, I’m sure, totally unrealistic. They’re all customer calls has a problem, how do you solve the problem. Then customer is all happy and satisfied. Just like real life! Still, I am learnin’ the basics so that counts for sump’n.

Sorry for your loss Taters.

This Saturday I am cleaning the back porch and deck. They both need a good wash down and all the furniture and tables etc. need to be wiped down as well. Should make for a fun few hours.

It’s rainin’ out. Glad to be home. I made myself a grilled cheese sammich and some 'mater soup for dindin. 'Twas good!

BBBobbio the peecan crop down this way is kinda sparse this year. I noticed Monday evenin’ that there were not many nuts on the trees around the church. Last year they were full. How’s the crop up in Hooterville?

That sounds good. Now I wish I had either tomato soup or bread to make grilled cheese sammiches. :smack:

I’m home! (You missed me, right?)

Glad you stopped by, Smarty - sorry things aren’t going well, though. Hugs.

Hi kai! I’m looking forward to having you back more regularly.

Seems like we need an MMP roll call. MBG hasn’t checked in in forever. **Meeks **seems to be back in stealth mode. Like everyone, I still miss Haze. I’m sure there are others I’m not thinking of right now. So…

Lurkers…stop in and say hi!!! ::looks sternly at beebs::

I demand a review of the leek and potato gratin! It sounds yum.

Sorry for your loss, Taters. It’s sad, even if you weren’t close.

I’m trying to figure out what I need to do this evening. Suggestions?

Hugs in general to all Mumpers.

GT

Ummm… taxi you can’t make a grilled cheese sammich with tomato soup. :stuck_out_tongue:

That felt good! I haven’t been smartassed all day.

Got a call from SIL - they expect to get to his mom’s place by 10:30 tonight. Daughter still has no voice. However, her kitteh is just as noisy and naggy as ever - I just went downstairs to feed Miss Cleo.

We ate the last of the leftover lasagne for supper. And we’re not going to do anything tonight. We’d thought about putting down a little bit of tile, but neither of us feel like doing anything.

Glad tomorrow is Firday…

This will be the off year for my tree, too, not even considering what I lost to Hannah. My best guess of the yield is 40 gallons unshelled. Last year was 90.

Peecans, hickories, and walnuts have a 2 year hi-low cycle.

Speaking of walnuts, a guy at work gave me a bucket of black walnuts. They’re big round green pods - who knew?? Not me. Guess I need to look up how to open 'em up.

The house I grew up in had two huge black walnuts in the back yard. I hate black walnut trees. I am miserably allergic to their pollen. And if you let the nuts lie in the yard too long the covering gets all black and slimy and gets all over everything. And the squirrels always got to the nuts before anyone else and ate them all.

The empty half-shells are good for owl heads, though.

You throw 'em out in your driveway and drive over them with your car.
Why are you looking at me like that? That’s what we used to do with my Gramma’s walnuts. The shell and nut part is inside that green pod. No, really.
Or, you can whack them with a board.

Oh, and hugs to all who need them, and a grope to anybody who needs that.

MOOOOOOM I suggest finding a place like a local hardware store that will crack nuts. I dunno about where you live but around here several locally owned hardware stores offer to crack peecans, walnuts and the like. You’ll still have to pick 'em out but the shells are cracked. It’s worth every cent too.

Or use Bumba’s method cause it sounds like fun.
