ETA: ooooh… that gratin does look yum! And I love the fact that, unlike most gratin recipes, it’s made with just milk instead of tons of cream. I think I’d add some cremini mushrooms for extra flavour, though… adds to list of things to make

I like UK tax people. So far we’ve had some problems re. identities (we all have two strange, overlong, lastnames and sometimes multiple firstnames) and a friend with unemployment assistance, but Glasgow city has a great webpage including easy-to-find contact links and payment systems, and it has taken one phone call to fix my TV license for both the old and new apartments (no TV in either, so no tax - well, the old one had a TV but no signal for it).

Good morning everyone. I’m up, but that’s about it. I had to take my RDO today instead of tomorrow, so now my three day weekend is all jacked up.
I had to take the RDO today because our new CG is to briefed in my division tomorrow and will taken around to meet and greet the rest of us. Yeah, so for thirty seconds of face time, I had to switch my day off.:rolleyes:

See, I knew my grumpy was catching, now everybody’s got it! 
Nooner, Swampy, another HUGE advantage to SIM cards is that you can get nifty little USB copiers that will let you transfer all your phone book to a new SIM card, and will also let you back it up on your computer in CSV format. This is a gigantic help when you get your phone dunked, because that can short out the SIM s well. I really need to get a new SIM, I’ve been using the same damned one since 2003 and it doesn’t have near the memory capacity of the new ones.
That potato-leek thingy looks nommy, I’m forwarding that to my vegetarian daughter, she’ll pee herself! Definitely wants mushrooms, and I could see adding a bit of chicken breast for us carnivores.

Today was a waste at work. Couldn’t do anything in the office, then we took off for our cookout. I bailed shortly after the burgers were done because I had to get back here by 1. Which means the guy won’t show till after 4, I expect…
Daughter still has no voice, so she couldn’t teach today, so she and her spouse are on their way to FL. I talked to him about an hour ago and they were halfway thru North Carolina. I’m kinda relieved, since their original plan was to leave after she got off work tonight and drive all night. They are insane!!! Now they should make Orlando before midnight. Maybe.
I could do something constructive while waiting for furnace man. Dunno if I will, but I could.
Glad tomorrow’s Firday. But since I have to brief, I need to dress all professional. Which means I really should iron something. Guess that would be sorta constructive.

Hmmm, what have I done that’s productive today? Well, I fed the fish and I started a load of laundry.
Those damn fish are HOGS! Mr. Taters bought fifty feeder fish yesterday afternoon. They are ALL GONE. We have two oscars (an albino tiger and a regular tiger) and a soma cichlid. They’re getting pretty big and it’s no damn wonder. Fortunately, they leave our other fish alone. We did have a casualty the other day. Our last blue dwarg gourami died. It made it through all the problems we were having, then just up and died. I don’t know why. The amonia levels are fine, there’s no sickness in the other fish, and it didn’t have any symptoms either. Oh well…
Well, I guess I should try and read some of my Lean Six Sigma stuff. Bleah…

We’ve got more bats. Yesterday, I noticed our flag was tangled up, so I reached up to untangle it. I’m greeted by a flurry of what I thought were bugs, but I soon saw that it was about a half dozen little bats that were cozied up in the flag. eek!
Say, I just noticed that we’re missing some regulars like MamaTigs, and MBG; hope all is okay with them. {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}
