when do IA Caucus results come in?

Do any results or kind of results get announced tonight?

The actual caucus process does not begin until 7:00 pm CST. Considering the way the media is salivating over the results, expect to hear things of substance, intermixed with speculation, hype and/or innuendo, anytime after 7:00 pm.

Personally, I wouldn’t bother. Watch a DVD and then go to bed. It will only be tomorrow before the political camps begin to bolster themselves once the results are out. Too bad the caucuses are not in mid-summer. It’s more enjoyable to view the winners of the rooster and hen competitions from the Iowa State Fair. At least a walk through the hen houses and cattle barns would convey a similar bluster to occur tonight and tomorrow, but complete with the actual smell of chicken poop and bull shit.

Ok, but I was looking for an answer, not a bunch of opinions. Sorry. Anybody? I assume the caucusing must end at a certain time, but not sure if the results are phoned in or something at a certain time tonight.

Already a thread on this

Looks like the Republican’s results will be known pretty quickly (like 8 cst) while the Dems can drag on till midnightish.

As of 8:00 pm CST, NBC News just called the Iowa Republican vote for Huckabee.

I can give you the Democratic results for Union Township, Fayette County: Two delegates to the county convention for Sen Edwards, one for Gov Richardson. That’s from a pretty provincial and conservative section of the state. Results in, for instance, Des Moines may be different.

NBC has made their projections:

Democrats: Obama Republicans: Huckabee
