When do you shower?

Every morning, and evenings, too if warranted (always after the gym or working outside). I, too, like to relax in a hot shower and take one when the urge strikes.

Imagine the discussion you two will have over the really important issues (e.g., toilet paper over or under).

I take a shower right before I go to bed. Bedhead is not really an issue, because my hair does whatever it pleases no matter what I do.

I get up at 5 already, and I’d have to get up even earlier if I wanted to take a shower in the morning, unless I wanted to skip breakfast (not an option).

I’m chinese. I shower in the morning starting in high school. Before that I always as the rest of my family, showered at night. As far as I know it is a custom that asian people shower at night.

My husband and I both shower at night, he because he gets dirty during the day, why take a shower in the morning to do manual labor? It’s better for both of us if he takes one at night, he is not coming to bed without a shower:). I also shower at night usually, because I am usually rushed in the morning and get up at the last minute, and also because I work out after work and need a shower then anyway. I would also rather go to bed later than get up earlier. I think, though, that it is more common (at least for Americans) to shower in the morning, and I always did through school.

Primarily in the morning.

The as_u_wish family shower summary.

My son: showers whenever we make him. Once every other week would be fine with him. Never would be fine with him. He thinks his smell is God’s gift to the rests of us. He is wrong.

My daughter and I: We have long, thick heavy hair, which can take hours to dry on its own and half an hour to 45 minutes with a blow dryer. As a result, our shower habits are seasonal. In the winter, and for most of the school year, we can’t shower in the morning because it’s way too time consuming to dry our hair and WAY too cold to go out with wet hair. Of course, we also can’t shower at night, because it too cold to sleep with wet hair and sleeping on it creates incredible “punk” hair styles. So, we come home from work/school and shower at 3 or 4 in the afternoon. Go figure. In the summer, we switch back and forth depending on how hot it is. Most of the time we shower in the morning and just go off to work with wet hair. Sometimes, though, we shower again at night if it’s very hot and sleep with nice, cool, wet hair.

Mr. as_u_wish showers in the morning so he can shave in the shower.

Showers! They’re not just for breakfast anymore.

I take showers mostly at night because it takes a long time for my hair to air dry.

Normally at night, occasionally in the morning depending on circumstances. [Feeiling ill and wanting to freshen up (or as much as one can when one isn’t feeling well), SO is taking a shower and invites me in, etc.] On hot, icky, sticky days, I’ll ‘shower’ multiple times in a day. (More like duck under cool water for a few moments to get the sweat off of me.)

I just don’t like getting up in the morning, and having a lot of stuff to do before heading out for the day (or whatever). I get up, I brush things that need brushing, plop in eyeballs, I get dressed, and out the door I go. I don’t want to spend the time needed to shower.

<< Splish, splash! >>

In the morning - always. Very rarely I will take one at night as well, but I end up with hair like a bird’s nest if I sleep with it wet, and I hate using the hair dryer unless I have to.

My mother always took them at night though - and she always bathed, not showered.

Morning and night. The idea of going to bed dirty is disgusting to me, and i like to be clean for my partner. In the morning, the shower wakes me up, and I start the day nice and clean.
Btw, I am an American male

Both. With sometimes one in between, depending what I did that day.

In the morning. I can’t even comprehend the night shower people, and if I had a fiancee was serious about forcing me to switch to night showers, I’d have to consider ending the relationship over that. I simply CAN’T do night showers. I’ve tried, and it just doesn’t work.

I take showers whenever I feel like it. I stay home with my kids all day, so I often go take a shower about the time that I am starting to feel stressed out. Then I feel better and I can handle my kids with a fresh perspective.

When I was working or going to school, I usually showered at night just so I didn’t have to get up any earlier than I had to. Of course, I usually felt cleaner and more confident if I showered in the morning, especially if I was wearing freshly laundered/pressed clothes and took my time with my hair and makeup and all that.

Lots of people that I know shower just before going to work or school (even if that doesn’t mean in the morning). Your fiance is weird if she thinks that’s odd.

Shower?

In the morning during the week. This is not a guy thing, as I’m definitely not a guy. Sometime not til early afternoon on the weekend if I’m feeling particularly lazy. Sometimes I’ll take a bath in the evening to relax.

I take my “normal” showers in the morning. Sometimes I will take one at other times if I’ve been doing something that gets me dirty like working outside but then I end up taking my regular shower in the morning anyways.

I like to start the day clean and if I’m doing anything more than hanging around the house I need the shower to get my hair to cooperate in any meaingful way. Not that my hair is anything glamourous though.

I am one of those “night showerers” so many have deemed strange. When I was a kid we had one bathroom and there were 3 bathroom hogs in my house. I had to arrange my life around them and ended up showering at night. Then even in my own place I had to get up so early to get to work (worked 3am -11am) that showering in the evening made sense then too. Now I am a stay home mom so I still shower in the evening when my hubby can watch the baby or after she’s asleep. It also makes me feel more confident to go to bed for sex all freshly clean

Under normal circumstances, I shower in the morning, additional ones later in the day if needed. Helps me wake up, and I feel gross if I don’t.

I must hope, for your sake, that this is not typical of her behavior in situations where someone disagrees with her on minor issues.

When I lived at home (with my parents), there were 8 people in the house. 7 of them took showers in the morning, I took a shower at night because (1) it was the only way I could be sure I’d get hot water and (2) I could then sleep later in the morning. One of the best things about moving out was that I could take a shower in the morning, which is when I usually take it now. Sometimes I will take one at night, but that is unusual.

I shower at night. I teach preschool and feel filthy by the end of the day, could never go to bed like that. Sometimes in the wintertime I enjoy a hot bath. In the summertime I might take more than one shower per day.
Husband showers in the morning, it’s the only way he can wake up. I would not dream of telling that guy when to shower, and as someone else mentioned, having separate shower-times tones down any possible bathroom conflicts.
