I am so glad to be a 9-5er.
Friday is my Friday regardless of what days i work. The weekend is Saturday and Sunday, though i’m usually working Saturday.
I currently work in musical theater, so the only day off is Monday. It can happen that I see someone on the train with a beer in hand on Friday afternoon, thinking to myself: “You’re off into the weekend, pal, whereas I’m on my way to work, to the fourth of eight shows a week.” That Monday is precious, I tell you! The job is not without its perks, though - going to work at 4 or 5 pm most days is pretty awesome.
Same here with a twist. I start Tuesday night, work three 10 hour nights and get off Friday morning.
Then I have 24 hours off and switch to day shift Saturday. Sunday, Monday and most of Tuesday off.
I really like this schedule even though most people probably would not.
What’s a weekend?
(Spent a big chunk of both last Saturday AND Sunday at work, and am on cal next weekend. Assuming it doesn’t rain, this one’s going to be entirely spent working in my garden. I’ll need a weekend to recover from my weekend!)
I work Sun-Thursday, 330 PM-Midnight, so today (Thursday) is the end of my workweek. Perfect schedule, I can enjoy both Friday and Saturday nights.
I work evenings Monday-Saturday. Off Sundays. I’m a night person, so that schedule works well.
