When is HBO's "Rome" coming out on DVD?

I was eagerly awaiting this show, and, as luck would have it, was no longer in a position where I had access to cable when it finally aired.

I have not seen a single episode, though those who know me best have declared that I’ll love it.

So does anyone know when the inevitable season 1 DVD set is coming out?

I meandered around HBO’s Rome site and didn’t see anything. Nothing available for preorder at Amazon either.

If the Deadwood DVDs are any indication of timing, it’ll take about a year, or a month or so before season two starts.

I’m still waiting for the final season of Oz, and that’s been finished for at least a couple of years. :mad:

if it’s like most TV Series DVDs, it’ll come out about a week before Season 2 starts (which for Rome, is still a year and a half away!), thus not giving anybody the time to catch up in time to be in sync with the next season - when the Nip/Tuck DVD’s for season 1, I literally had to watch the entire thing over the weekend to be ready for the start of season 2, which was fine since it was an addicting show, but in Rome’s case, you really won’t be watching more than one episode a day.

Chances are good that HBO will rerun the first season at least once before season two starts. That’ll help folks catch up.
