“Donald Trump! You’ve just lost by the biggest Landslide in US history and have highhandedly destroyed the credibility of the GOP!
What are you going to do now…?”
“I’m taking my daughter to ‘Club Med’…!”

One the one hand, freedom to be in a minority with different values is what America is all about. Once the Democrats turn against that, then what is the difference?
OTOH, yeah, if your values are ‘deport brown people’ and ‘only my religion allowed,’ then that is obviously no bueno. I hope this election helps some on the right really see what the GOP has become, so that hopefully we can solve problems collaboratively instead of just taking endless pot shots at each other.
That said, I kinda like “Orange you glad you voted for Trump?”
Nobody’s stopping the ignorant racists from being ignorant or racist. They’re all perfectly free to bigot their little grinch hearts out.
I’m just tired of hearing how, maybe if we’re nice enough and don’t challenge them, they’ll engage in some self-reflection and change their fundamental worldview.
I predict a career in professional wrestling. The fans of that seem to be his base and they will love him no matter what. This would also provide a few jobs for some new “bad guys”. A woman (many women, actually), a Muslim, a former POW, entire Gold Star families, some journalists, the list goes on and on.
Two simultaneous things are necessary:
It’ll never completely disappear, but at least it can be kept to a festering minimum.
I actually sort of agree with this. I might stop short of “utterly unworthy.” She’s a money-grubbing old coot whose best years are behind her, and I think the party is downplaying her history of ischemic events; but for American politics, she’s possibly not even below average, as terrifying as that is.
Anyway, I’d actually be relieved if she dropped dead tomorrow.
Voting for Hillary Clinton doesn’t make that message stronger. It could be read as voters voting for the novelty of a woman candidate. Voting for third parties shows disgust with “the system,” and cause for reform.
I’m with you Donald. It was all the fault of the press!!
They were unfair to him, believe me. Very unfair.
I’m not so sure that wouldn’t give a boost to Trump, if only because the Dems would be in such disarray.
If you hate her, at least wait until the day after the election.
I don’t hate her, but I basically fell in love with Kaine, and think he basically has all the charm she lacks.
But not any actual ideas for what to do about the problem you have trouble even identifying articulately. It’s no more than throwing a tantrum, and deserves no respect.
You are absolutely correct, not being a US citizen. However I can and do comment on US politics since it effects the entire world, and I’ll make sure I relentlessly mock Trump voters for supporting the biggest loser of all time come November 9th.
Oh and if you can be bothered, please do feel free to mock or comment on Australian politics, we do have several Trump lite blow hards who do their best to make Australia “memorable” in world politics.
Should Trump win, the meltdown here is going to be one for the ages. One we’ll feel even over here. Sturgeon at al are going to be severely embarrassed.
I would be careful about saying that this is completely out of reach.
Trump is going to take advantage of Obama’s golf game to turn this into a political play.
TrumpBart is going to get Ted Nugent to spin Kanye West’s epic rant in his own 2016 version: “Barack Obama doesn’t care about white people.”
Wouldn’t be surprised to see TrumpBart do a telethon.
The governor of Louisiana specifically and publicly requested that the President wait a few weeks before coming to Louisiana, since the security arrangements could hamper rescue and relief efforts. He also said that the Feds had been giving him everything he asked for. I would imagine the same would go for Hillary. Hillary and Obama can reasonably push back with “the governor said that security for a visit would harm the rescue/relief efforts, so why is Trump harming the rescue and relief of Louisianans?”.
Bernie’s “misogyny” was suggested & then discarded. Gender & race are just not his major issues. He’s come out for Hillary.
But a few of the Bernie Bros definitely qualify. MRA hipsters.
Which reforms have resulted from third party “disgust”?
I predict a quick flyover…
I’m sure the people in Georgia thought that too. Now it’s a battleground state.
Seriously no one at this point would read an overwhelming Clinton victory as voting for the novelty item.
Romney lost by 5%, McCain by 7%, Dole by 8.5%. A Trump loss by similar margins fails to demonstrate that the Trumpian approach is any worse than any other for the GOP or that the country rejects it any more than it rejects more normal and sane worldviews. A loss well outside that range, OTOH, does.
It’s been pointed out before but, no, reasonable third party third place showings have never had their demonstrated disgust with “the system” cause any reform.
Wallace got 13.5% … did that provoke any “reform”? Perot in '92 got 19% … what reforms emerged? Hell, Teddy Roosevelt got 27% as a Progressive in an election in which Eugene Debs got 6% as a Socialist … a third of the vote went to “other” … reforms? Nah. 1916 was still Woodrow Wilson re-elected by a few points over Charles Hughes and third parties getting 4% total.
Voting for third parties does not cause reform to occur; it only dilutes the message of rejection.
What history? She had a blood clot in 1998, which is not a TIA.
All other references I can find are in extreme-right babbleblogs dutifully carrying the “Hillary is a sick old woman” banner.
