WHEN Will This Cold Wave END!

I’m watching my fuel tank empty itself-here in Boston, we have had 11 days of subfreezing temperatures…nightime lows have been in the minus numbers. I went out yesterday to walk the dog, and froze my ass off.
What is really pitiful-the homeless and winos are freezing. Two nights ago, an 83 year old homeless man froze to death (he was ejected from a shelter because he was inebriated-they should have sent him to jail for the night).
Where isGLOBAL WARMING when you need it!

There is a rant already in progress, fellow frozen MA person.

Only eleven days? We’re up to thirteen right now with 7 to go according to the forecast.

It was 70+ two days ago here.

Two points-

There was another thread on this (but its so cold 3 threads could be supported at this point  ).

Global Warming, as I understand it, invovles much greater volitilitly in the weather on top of warmer average temps. Thus Global Warming could also play a role in unexpectedly nasty winter conditions as well.

Of course, the joke is not nearly as funny that way.

The local news-radio station here announced yesterday that “The good news is that the temperature may reach 40 degrees next week. The bad news is that it’s not next week.”

Let’s see…cold wave in winter. When will it end…spring?

Y’all ain’t gonna get any sympathy from me. . .

Especially since one of my next moves may be to Montana.

Feh. This is a daily thing.

Cheer up ralph124c. It’ll be over by May at the latest.

Yeah it was cold here in the Palm Springs area - I think it hit 50 last night.

(ducks out of the way of all the incoming snowballs)

DISCLAIMER: I grew up north of Boston. I delivered newspapers in the Blizzard of '78. I went camping when it was -20F outside. I feel your pain.

I can’t believe no one has commented on the irony of this being in THE BBQ PIT.

Yellowknife, NT., where I lived for 8 years, would have stretches of -40 for weeks at a time. I am basking in the relative warmth.
